I had an experience recently, with a theft of my ****** SMax155. It was stolen and my insurance said TOTAL Loss due to Theft. I had full coverage at time so every thing resolved and vehicle never recovered. This happened September 2021 to December 2021. In May of 2022 it was recovered by Los Angeles County Sheriff's and I was notified that it was being stored at *****'s Tow Yard. I went down there to sign release, I called adjuster told her I had call vehicle recovered. I also sent her copies of letter and envelope for AMIG"s records. They never went to pick it up and so, it is September of 2022 and I get a collections letter. I called *****'s Tow Yard and asked them why they didn't call me before the sold the account to collections. He said he can't call everybody, busy. But I said I signed release for the insurance. They didn't care, said not for them to worry about. I was under the impression they called insurance. Then I said "since *****'s Tow Yard is assuming I am responsible, why didn't they sent me a copy after sale of the fees incurred?" and "How much did they sell it for and what is the brake down?" He refused to tell me. Conclusion, how is this legal, I should have been copied on every attempt to get insurance to call them or pick it up, and I was never notified a balance existed. Under my plan I found the verbage "When we pay the loss payee we shall, to extent of payment, be subrogated to loss payee's rights of recovery" There should be more attempts to at least give notice to Owner of Vehicle. They didn't call me once or copied me on anything.

Legally he said they are not obligated to call me. What? Legally there has to be more notice, especially when he sold it, if that was *****'s Tow Yard's premise of action.
