We hired ACE Electric to rewire a cabin we own. We had two people come out for estimates...I cannot remember their names. We were unaware this would be a two step process...they told us they would do the rough in and then when we finished the walls, they would come back out and finish the plugs to make it complete. We told them we were doing most of the work ourselves and did not know when we would be finished. They agreed it would be a while and verbalized understanding of complete payment once job was done, as we all agreed we didn't know when it would be. We paid $1,000 of the $1,758.25 total on 3/19/21 and stated on the invoice we would pay the balance once the plugs and final hook up was complete. With COVID which we passed around our family, snow in this remote area, our handy man moved to Michigan, and we made several trips to Minnesota due to my mother in laws pancreatic cancer it took us until January 2022 to complete the walls. ACE turned us over to collections a few months ago and ironically we had just completed the walls so we were ready to call them to come out to finish. I called Matt Ogle of ACE and apologized for taking so long and said I figured he did the collections to make us get finished and I understood. I was floored when he said they would not be coming back out to complete the job. I said Matt of course we would pay, because he was upset we had not paid in full. I said Matt of course we will pay when you complete the job and we were ready for that. There was nothing said or written about a hard deadline on completion. Trust me we would already rather it be completed along time ago. We have not stayed one night in the cabin so it's a simple as what I have stated. We were never trying to dodge paying and still aren't. And they had no contact with us since March 2021 until they sent us to collections! I have been trying to resolve this with Matt and collections company but he is steadfast in they aren't coming back out.
