Drainworks came to check my clogged clay sewer pipe - they put a camera down and discovered roots everywhere, most of which they got out. They gave me a detailed report of the problem and estimate to replace a 14-foot section of clay sewer pipe and a connection that had failed under the basement cement floor. Months later it clogged again and they were kind enough to honour the original quote AND booked me in the very next day on an emergency basis. In this day and age of disreputable tradespeople I was fully prepared to deal with surprise charges, over-billing, damage, mess, or other service issues. But to my amazement there were none. J-P kept in touch with me from the office, Armando called me from the job site numerous times giving me updates. They even sent photos and a full report of their work, took away all the dirt and broken cement, and cleaned up after themselves. I was very impressed and relieved. They were not cheap, but compared to what I've paid other plumbing services, I felt their fee was VERY fair and reasonable.

We needed a proper assessment on what was causing a sewage back-up in our basement so we called JP at Drainworks to arrange for a technician to bring in camera equipment to check our drain pipe the following business day. Jim F., the attending technician, was able to show us that an extremely thick tree root was blocking 60% of our tile pipe below the main part of the house. This tree root is not something that could be broken up with a snake and it was time to replace this nearly 100 years old pipe.

This meant breaking up the concrete floor for almost the whole length of the house to dig out and replace the old pipe. A very messy undertaking that we were not looking forward to as we've had the unfortunate experience of the dust and debris that comes with breaking up a concrete floor from a previous renovation. In addition, there would be the inconvenience of not being able to use the water.

Jim F. assured us that the Drainworks team could do the entire job in less than a day, that they would enclose the job site area to ensure that dust and debris was contained from the rest of the house, and that the water would be off for a minimal amount of time. Jim also indicated that he could probably have the team there the next day (we needed a bit more time to move a few things so we scheduled for 2 days later).

True to their word, the Drainworks team showed up on time, secured the job site area, and got to work. The team let us know when we had to stop using the water, which to our surprise turned out to be less than 2-1/2 hours! The full job only took approximately 7 hours. With the exception of the wet cement there really wasn't any evidence of work having been done in the basement that day. That is how clean they left the job site! We can't begin to express how pleased we are with the professionalism of how this job was managed. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** ****

Called them in to see if they could unclog an old lead pipe drain that wasn't allowing my bathtub to drain. As the drain pipe was too old for a partial repair I asked them the cost of replacing the entire line. Not only did they give me a reasonable quote but we're able to do the job the same day which also included outdated connections to the tub and bathroom sink and main stack.
Jim and Chris did an excellent job and explained exactly what they were going to do. I am very pleased with their work and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.
