I have had an account with Perkopolis for more than 10 years through my work (****). Recently I booked a stay at **************** through Perkopolis for January 1, 2022. When I booked I noticed they had my old email address on file. I added my new email address but could not remove my old one so I called Perkopolis and asked the representative to change my email address on file and send my confirmation to my new email. I received the confirmation on my new email address so I assumed everything was fine and they had changed it. My family and I headed out on January 1st for the 2+ hour drive to Niagara Falls excited for our stay at ***. When we got there the parking lot was empty and there was a sign saying "Lodge Closed". I called **************** and they had closed on December 31 for an indeterminate amount of time, but the representative on the phone said at least a month. I told him no one had contacted me to tell me and he said it was the responsibility of Perkopolis since I booked with them. I was furious, but not able to speak with anyone from Perkopolis since it was New Years Day and no one was working. My family and I ended up paying $300 to stay in a hotel with waterslides as my children were so disappointed that we couldn't stay at ***. When I finally was able to talk to someone from Perkopolis they confirmed that *** closed, and that they attempted to contact me via email. When I questioned if they had used my old email they did not answer. When I questioned further they told me that it was impossible to change the email address on file to the gmail account I initially gave and that I would have to use my work email address. I told them that was fine with me and why didn't someone say that from the beginning?? Then I would have seen the email letting me know the lodge was closed. They did give me a credit for the booking but I still had to pay an extra $300 out of pocket to stay in a different hotel *****************************.
