My central air stopped working and I called them for service based on their full page advertisement in our local flyer reporting 5 star reviews.

The 2 men arrived, asked no questions as to what we had observed with our central air and went outside to look at it. Within less than 5 minutes after not even taking the housing off or running any kind of diagnostic, they came back into the house and advised:
1)there must be a leak because the coolant was all gone.
2)The cost to find someone to replace it because it is no longer an environmentally approved system would run a lot of money and it would probably again stop working a week later.

The one man then suggested a new system and based on our home size, advised they could install one for approx. $4,000.00.

We paid the bill of $135.60 and the appointment ended.

I called a different company the next day for a second opinion. When he arrived, he did a thorough assessment, took the system apart and identified that replacing the capacitor was required. Capacitor replaced, system running perfectly. Cost 325.00 total

I feel totally ********** by Niagara Home Heating, who obviously tried to upsell me instead of repairing and earning a new customer.

Since sending in my complaint, I have been contacted by the owner John and we have resolved this issue to my satisfaction. My story and the workers story definitely differed but John was accepting of what I told him, apologized and refunded my total monies. I was very pleased with his quick follow up and acknowledgement of my complaint.
