I purchased my 2016 Volvo XC60 from a Volvo dealership in Cincinnati OH in 2016 with less than 10k miles on it. I grew up with Volvos (my parents always had one), I've personally had 2 Volvo's prior to my current one, so I loved my car. I've never had any major issues with my car. My family and I relocated to Kansas City, MO in June of 2021 and since my vehicle has been serviced 3 times at the only Volvo dealership in the area. Unfortunately my service experience with this particular dealership hasn't been good. Most recently I took my car to them in April after having both my oil and engine lights come on, while the sticker they place on my vehicle during my November 2021 visit said I wouldn't need another oil change until November 2022, that was incorrect because of the light indicators I was visiting them again in April 2022. During the April appt I was told they would perform and oil change at my request and would also do a diagnostic regarding due to the check engine light. While I was charged for my check engine light analysis, they did not share any major concerns with me. A couple weeks later on May 8, my car started to make a knocking noise, I brought it into Volvo the next day and was told I would need a new motor. I obviously was completely floored, I purchased this car from Volvo, financed it through Volvo, never had major issues and even in the last service appt wasn't told of any major concerns with the car, yet here it is no longer worked and paid off as of Feb 2022. I can't help but feel that something was not investigated or done properly with my vehicle, or information that should have been shared with me was not, and now I want Volvo to at least provide a used/rebuilt motor for my vehicle. This particular Volvo dealership is the only one in town, and definitely has not done a good job with my vehicle and after the years of investment I've made as a customer of the Volvo brand I'm expecting them to make this situation right.
