The home building process with DRI has been a nightmare to say the least. Our intial meeting was great,they sold ** dream. We were excited about building, as this was our first time, and we didnt want the cookie cutter style of home and DRI really impressed ** during our first meeting. We met with them inNovember of ************************************** December 2021, the expected closing was September 23, 2022. Of course, we received a few extensions (December 8 & January 9) initially closing on January 31, 2023. There were several problems that occurred before closing. Since closing we have been ignored, lied to, and totally disregarded. Here are issues that could have been prevented had they communicated with the contractors they had doing the work or at least had a project manager that oversaw the work in accordance with the **** sheet and building plan, some of these things had to be completely re-done further delaying the ********** there are some things that havent been resolved to date:? Incorrect plumbing placement? Stairs on the Deck? Flaws/cracks in sump pump? Primary closet design? We didnt want a cooktop, they installed cabinets and countertops made for cooktop and wall oven instead of the range as outlined in the ****s? Exposed nails in the decking? Cracking, crumbling and holes in the pa?o and driveway concrete? Sodding issues, and they didnt even pick-up the trash left by the builders? They didnt clean my home before closing (there was grit and dust throughout the home) we called and complained the cleaner came out and cleaned the windows thats it, nothing else.? The cabinet screws keep coming out, we were told the by the cabinet guy, that when they took the cabinets out to paint them, the screws they used were too small, every week we have an issue with a different cabinet.? Incorrect front door, and s?ll havent placed the window over the door? Missing bathroom light window screens PLEASE DO NOT CLOSE UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED.

Lies, lies, lies. Thats all youll get from this business. Thats IF you can get them to communicate back to you. They screwed around with us for almost a year with framing being the ONLY thing getting done during that time. Finally pulled the contract and sheet rock magically goes in the next day. They did return our ******* money but will not return our money for upgrades thats we paid for upgrades that didnt ever happen. Really hope no one else gets screwed over by DRHI like my family did.

I have never written a bad review for a company, but after our building experience with **** Richards I feel that its important for others to know what to expect should they choose to build with DRHI. Building a home should be an exciting and rewarding process, but instead our experience was stressful, frustrating, and felt downright hopeless at times. Here were our main issues:-Total lack of communication from builder throughout the process and nearly impossible to get into contact with anyone when issues arise. -Careless work with lack of oversight: my husband caught many errors throughout the building process, including framing our 2nd floor to the wrong floor plan, adding a wall by a staircase that shouldnt have been there, and putting plumbing in the wrong location in the basement (resulting in having to tear up concrete). All of these errors only added to the delays that were already happening. -Dealing with an incredibly rude realtor from Ask ***** throughout the process -Total disregard for our punchlist once we closed. It has taken nearly a year for them to complete the items, and Im certain we only got as many completed as we have because we have had to constantly follow up with them -And the kicker: a crumbling/discolored driveway that is clearly defective and should be repoured. (We confirmed this with several people in the concrete business). I have spoken with 9 neighbors who also built with **** Richards and every single one of them had as poor of an experience as we did with similar issues. I strongly suggest that if you are considering building a home that you do your research and choose your builder more wisely than we did. If you are currently building with DRHI, DO NOT CLOSE until they have completed everything in your home to your satisfaction! And go by your house to check on the build as often as possible to look carefully for mistakes.

What a nightmare... My wife and I were excited to build our FIRST home as first-time home buyers, and these crooks took the joy and excitement away. On October 5, 2020, we signed our contract, and unfortunately, did not close until November 24, 2021, when we should've closed June 15, 2021... One delay turned into seven which forced us to endure the unprofessionalism of DRHI for a total of fourteen months. The worse part is that DRHI always encountered a delay. Instead of owning up to it, they'd blame us or the weather for their incompetence... It was never their fault. We are still waiting on the numbers for our house, a mssing piece to the fireplace, window screens, sod, floor repair, and a host of other issues. But they don't care... ************ is so bad I am surprised they're still in business. Honestly, if I could give them 0 stars I would. That's how much of a disaster working with these people has been. The supervision, quality of work, professionalism -- everything is poor. Complete disaster for my family and me... I will be reaching out to someone of higher authority about how poorly we were treated. Avoid DRHI at all costs!!!
