Absolute garbage. I ordered from their site: a beautiful piece of wood. We exchanged emails on the checkering; originally, I wanted none, but after some discussion we settled on very minimal checkering and done in the very fine-line style. I sent them drawing of exactly what I wanted. They agreed. The gun had been my Dad's, he had always hated the stock, so having this done was HUGELY important to me.When it finally came in, I was horrified. They ignored all my decisions, put standard checkering in all the places I didn't want: just a really ugly job that ruined the look of the gun, made it very cheap-looking, almost like machine checkering from a second-rate manufacturer.Called them and left them a message, and also sent them an email. They ignored both and I never heard from them. The gun went in the cabinet and hasn't been out since. Every time I look at it I get angry: not just because they screwed up but because they won't respond or stand up for what they did. In fact, I wanted the original stock back. Nope. No idea where that went, as they never returned it.On the good side I never hesitate to bad-mouth them, and I know I've cost them business - one man in particular was just about to place an order then actually came to the house to see the horrible thing I paid SOOOO much for. He called ******* the next day and paid a bit more but unlike mine, his is beautiful. I've talked at gun shows with people who were considering them; after a chat with me they all spent their money elsewhere. One man who didn't later said he wished he had listened to me. In his case it wasn't like mine, a total s**** up. It wasn't really anything they did; it's just that it didn't end the gun just didn't look very good.DON'T DEAL WITH MACON. YOU WILL BE SORRY. They WILL s**** up and ignore you once they do. Never deal with anyone that won't back their work.

Forget the one star I gave. They deserve 0 stars. I ordered a forend for a shotgun and the picture on their website shows a forend that is substantially finished. The forend I actually got was anything but and would have required substantial woodworking (not some fit or finish) to make it useable. Reading other reviews, this is apparently a bait and switch tactic they use to sucker people in to making a purchase. They know the pictures on their website don't represent what you're going to get, yet they leave them up to dupe customers with their false representations. If you ask for a return authorization and refund, they respond "The website says you'll have to fit and finish the stock" and we won't accept a return - all sales are Final! What a way to do business. They will never get my business again and I will make sure I tell eveyone I can what a sorry outfit this is. Hard to believe with the reivews I've read on the internet that this place is still in business. ****** learned to check reviews more carefully in the future. Take my advice and go somewhere else with your money.

My husband ordered a stock from Macon. He was told the stock would take a month to make. After four weeks, he called to check on it. He was told that someone was sick and they were short-staffed, and that it would be another three to four weeks. When he called back again after that time, it still hadn't been started and they told him his was next. After four months, a stock showed up, but it wasn't even for the barrel he ordered it for.After arguing with the owner, he finally said my husband could send it back, but to send it with the foot-plate. After another four weeks, the stock came back, but the foot-plate he sent with still didn't fit the stock. He called again, and the same guy told my husband he didn't know what he was doing, and that it was a rough stock for a reason. He was so rude about the entire thing, even when he found out from his wife that he made the wrong stock.At this point, my husband would have to pay another $500 to someone else to fix the issues with it, or buy at least $300 in tools to do it himself. He did get the foot-plate to fit now, but the stock is cut too narrow in some areas (and too wide in others) for the barrel to drop down. We both do woodworking and would have to spend hours fixing this to make it usable. Please don't waste your money. They don't care if they send out quality items or not. We would love to get our money back and be done, but his bogus guarantee on his site has so many disclaimers that he makes it impossible.
