Hi Gee. Thank you for being a NASB customer. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced while our ATM was down for maintenance. We understand your frustration with the maintenance timing; however, since system updates are common and typically outside of our control, NASB does offer a variety of channels to accommodate our customer’s needs. We shared that you are always welcome to visit the drive-through or visit our website to view a list of free ATMs near your location. Our goal is always to ensure a good experience for our customers, so we appreciate your feedback as we always want to improve.Customer Response

6 for 6 times ATM not available. This past Friday evening. None of the free ATMs are close to my residence. Grandview. As a senior citizen, I look for convenience. Do not desire to go to LS. I took my home loan from NASB bank over 12 yrs ago. I will be closing this account after the 1st of the year. Not a lot of perks. No zelle ,ATM, excuses for equipment that is literally broken. non-functioning. etc...Review from Derrick S

North American Savings Bank in *************, ** has charged me $60 and another $24 in unknown fees.$84 was unexplained, undisclosed fees, on the last day I showed up to close my account. I had a large balance free and clear on deposit with them since my first 30 days.. I was treated like a criminal now going in my 3rd month., The teller refuse to close my account in front of his Branch Manager after she instructed him. She told me I cannot close my account. They were disrespectful and unprofessional. People should know, NASB not a good bank to do business with.Review from jorge G.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We can appreciate your frustration with the timeline; however, the final decision on a loan application can only be determined once all the information has been provided by the borrower and all relevant parties, which is outside of NASBs control. Once the information has been provided, the decision is made based on the information provided within the documents and in accordance with the guidelines of the loan. If you have additional questions, please reach out to your loan officer, and they can connect you with one of our Sales VPs to discuss further.Review from Josh M

Going through a refi loan now and the experience has been awful. All started with an out of line appraisal then it got worse. Underwriting has asked for docs and materials over and over. Loan officer just does what hes told and apologizes for poor service. It feels like they are the customer and Im trying to satisfy them. Poor experience. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.North American Savings Bank (NASB) Response

Hi ****,Thanks for your feedback. Please know that all home appraisals are performed by an independent vendor, and neither NASB (nor any mortgage company) has control or influence over the appraisal (this is to protect you, the borrower). We understand that document requests can feel frustrating, but they are necessary to ensure that the loan application is accurate and fulfills all requirements-sometimes additional document requests do need to be made while the loan is in Underwriting. We will use your feedback to ensure all borrowers are educated about the expectations of the process.Review from David B

********** Was very responsive at first but totally ghosted me at the end of the process. I just started working as a contract employee 5 months ago which classifies me as self-employed so I had to do a an alternative lender. *** made it sound like it wouldnt be a problem getting a loan and then two days later said that the Billionaire owner of the bank denied our loan because the property was listed for lower than the price under contract. Have they not heard that realtors post properties for lower prices to elicit bidding wars?! I asked *** about the possibility of tweaking the terms and never heard back from him. I was totally misled and the the loan advisor just dropped off the face of the earth.North American Savings Bank (NASB) Response

We applied with NASB for a mortgage and was prequalified for an FHA loan. We wanted a seamless process where we were able to submit documentation online and keep track of the process online. However, we should have probably done more research as this bank is not located near where we live. My spouse and I are first time buyers and had several questions about the process, fees, cost, programs that we may be eligible for, etc. Our Loan officer DKiser communicated fairly in the beginning of the process in regards to obtaining necessary documentation. All communication was via email. While I am okay with email communication as initially we were unaware NASB was located in MO. However, I feel like as first time buyers, it is the loan officers job to explain the loan in its entirety. When we asked about fees, we were advised the bank has no fees and we may just need to pay third party costs like the title, appraisal and inspection. When we asked about closing costs TWICE, the question was ignored. We didnt even know the exact amount we needed to put down for a down payment. When we did finally find the house of our dreams, the seller requested a tri-merge letter. We had no clue what that was and our realtor explained it was just a stronger letter which stated what criteria was used to determine our loan eligibility such as use of all 3 credit reports and salary. When we reached out to the *** he stated he was unable to edit the offer letter. Unfortunately, we were not able to proceed with that house but we remained hopeful. I feel the application process was simple but the communication with our LO is a 0/10. At least explain to us why there are no programs for us, explain the breakdown of the loan, explain the things we should know. Now we have to go apply elsewhere and thats just additional points on our not so perfect credit.Review from REGINA C

I wanted to refinance my mortgage due to the lower mortgage rates during Covid-19 but wasn't sure who to go with. After finding a very good review on Nerd Wallet for NASB Bank I decided to give it a try. After my initial contact, communication was excellent, the closing costs as well as the other fees were very reasonable. It took several months to close, due to Covid, but the process was painless. Everything was handled electronically and with no surprises. I had an excellent experience. I would highly recommend NASB.Review from Ailinh T

My mortgage officer ghosted me 1 week before closing. We started the process 6 weeks ago. We lost the appraisal fee. They said they couldn't find someone in my area to do a CDA (whatever that is). Then no response to my multiple emails and voicemails. This company is fraudulent.North American Savings Bank (NASB) Response

Hi Ailinh,We are glad we were able to resolve this issue for you. Since we were unable to locate a company to do a CDA in your area, we refunded your appraisal fee for you. The delay in response to your calls and emails was because your loan officer was out of office for the holiday weekend, but we can understand your frustration in the miscommunication. Thanks for your patience.
