If I could I would give them a -5 star.Their main goal is to take advantage of the elderly!!!They dont want to pay claims! Month after month its a new excuse for no payment!They all should be ashamed of themselves!!!Review from Chrisa F

I got scammed for 8 years. Thinking I was saving for my retirement and also getting life insurance. When I went to cash it out because I got life insurance through my employer. There was no money in it. Its as if I took $200 every month for 8 years and lit it on fire. Im mortified. All I wanted to do was save for my retirement when I was 25 thinking it was very responsible of me.Transamerica Life Insurance Company Response

This company has bad customer service and NOONE in this department knows what they are doing. When I asked for a supervisor none of the customer service **** or claims **** would allow me to speak to one. Transamerica has deducted the wrong amount from my account and I had to dispute the amounts through my bank. I filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner also emailed the CEO of transamerica ( not sure if hed do anything because look at how his company is ran) still fight these ignorant service people to correct my billing and go by the letter they sent.Im not understanding where is the GOOD service from a reputable company?Review from Cynthia T

Husband passed away recently. Called them day after, paperwork will be emailed 3-5 days. No paperwork as of 2 weeks. Call everyday, hear kids in the background (working from home) told by several people, youll have by end of business day. Still nothing. Asked to speak to an internal auditor, where they claim its held up, no return call. They lie and stall, lie and stall. Phone numbers on website, disconnected. Only way to talk to someone is through one number. Use to be a good company, when I bought the policy. The phone number 319-///-//// is disconnected, dont bother. Transamerica has been refusing to surrender my money for a withdrawal for a month now. Not sure if they have new management, have been with them 15 years and they have become the ABSOLUTE WORSE.. All you get is the run around and different answer with a refusal to be able to speak with management. This is totally unacceptable. My Grandmother had a life insurance policy with Transamerica for many years. She passed away on January 19, 2018 from a long battle with Alzheimer's. Here I am in ************************************************************ and my brother. Do not do business with Transamerica!Review from J J S

Not even worthy of one star . Just a piece of s*** company . Paid decades into long term care policy only when needed all received was a runaround and stalled .Please save your money and go to any other company .Review from Dana W

My wife had a 20 year return of premium life policy through Transamerica. A return of premium policy, the way I understand it, holds a cash value that can be redeemed at the end of the policy. The customer pays extra for that through the premium. Im sure its not a gift from the company. For 18 years we made payments every quarter through typical online banking with no issue. We made a payment, as usual, in February 2024. A month later we received a letter stating that due to lack of payment, Transamerica chose to convert my wifes policy to a term policy and used the return of premium cash value to buy the final 2 years. We sent them multiple proof of payment, including from the bank itself, but they repeatedly stated that the proof was insufficient. The bank confirmed that payment was sent through their online banking administrator. So basically, without giving us any real options, the company stole our $2868 cash value of our policy and bought the final 2 years of my wifes term with it. We pay $155 a quarter so 2 years would come out to $1240 worth of premiumswhich is exactly half of the cash value that they took. Wheres the other $1268? No one knows. After multiple phone calls, Id say at least 10? hours worth, they refuse to recognize the fact that they stole money from our account and purchased ********************** for my wife which we did not authorize them to do. All good in their eyes because its stated somehow in their terms. They gave us 30 days to make a decision in writing but its taken 5 months to run this whole process out with too many phone calls, and too many wasted mornings to come up with absolutely no solutions. I find it ironic that after 18 years they had trouble processing our payment with exactly 24 months remaining in her policy. No matter how you look at this, we were taken advantage of by a monster of a company and they know we dont have the energy or means to really fix it. So any promise from Transamerica on returning cash value is a lie.Review from Houman S

After making payments for 11 years, I called these people and realized immediately what a mistake I had made choosing this company. Worst customer service ever. Nobody knows how to do their job. From loans to setting up a payment withdrawal date name it ,they can't do it. Everyone gives you a different answer. It's a circus! This company has the worst customer service, I have called around 40 times regarding a loan against my own policy. Every person that spoke to told me something different, I asked to speak to a manager or the loan department and that is not possible.. My issue has not been resolved after 40 calls and a over a month. I wish the CEO of the company would find out how horrible their customer service is.
