My employer selected this company, which turned out to be fraudulent, for both short-term and long-term disability coverage. Despite deducting over $22.00 from each pay period for my coverage, they denied my claim when I needed it due to a pre-existing condition from two years prior. After paying into the service for a year, they only provided $96.00 a week out of the promised $500 weekly coverage, which is insufficient to live on, especially in this economy. In my experience, OneAmerica should face one of the largest class-action lawsuits for their deceptive practices. They're taking advantage of us, and it seems like nobody is taking action.Review from Gwendolyn B

I gave this company one star but would have liked to have no stars. They are incompetent and can't handle simple transactions like sending my funds via rollover to a traditional *** account since I'm no longer employed with the company that has the retirement account with One **********************. I sent the paperwork and kept checking to find out if the funds were received and they were not. After a month I called One America and they had really screwed it up. I asked them to just send the funds to me but they didn't; they sent a check to the company and I was relieved. Until I saw the message indicating that they were returning the check and charging me a $25 fee (returned check fee). When I spoke with them they were not sympathetic but said they would send it again because the check they sent them had been voided. What is wrong with these people; who sends a voided check? I hope that the company really receives my funds this time (fingers and toes crossed). This company is absolutely INCOMPETENT! Beware making any investments with them.Review from MDouglas M

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by One America in relation to my ******************** policy. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from falling victim to similar circumstances.I initially invested in this policy under the impression that it operated like a regular bank account, with the promise of substantial interest gains and the flexibility to withdraw funds without penalty. However, it quickly became evident that this was not the case. Since submitting my case on February 8, 2024, I have been met with nothing but delays and empty promises. Despite being assured that my issue would be resolved within 10 business days, it is now March 1, 2024, and I am still fighting for the return of my hard-earned money.Over the course of less than a year, I have contributed over $17,000 to this policy, only to be offered a paltry sum of around $15,000 as cash value. The remaining amount is set to be pocketed by One America, leaving me feeling cheated and betrayed.Adding insult to injury, my agent, who initially enrolled me in this policy, has been virtually impossible to reach. It seems that whenever I attempt to contact her, she is conveniently "out of the country" or otherwise unavailable.This entire experience has left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of. The lack of transparency regarding how the policy works, coupled with the unprofessionalism and incompetence displayed by both the company and my agent, is simply unacceptable.In conclusion, I strongly advise against entrusting One America with your hard-earned money. Their deceptive practices and lack of accountability have cost me thousands of dollars and countless hours of frustration. I urge the Better Business Bureau to thoroughly investigate this matter and take appropriate action to hold One America accountable for their actions.Review from ELIZABETH J

K.. the reprehensive tried to verify in and asked my end date along with other questions. Failed me and i had to call back as i already waited ****************************************************************** that K.. didn't even have my end of employment date she didn't want to assist. I still hours later am trying to get in as i closed my account and the deposit is short. trying to find out what happened and so painful with this chapter!Review from matt k

Basically past one star reviews are ALL accurate and to make a long stot short, going on 3 weeks to withdraw funds from MY portion that I paid into and had to call twice about a paper supposedly sent to me to fill out in order to receive funds How hard is it to fax the paper or email the paper form to my HR representative instead of sending it through snail mail?! We live in a digital world where everything is done electronically so no reason a person has to wait for a paper to arrive which probably was never sent to begin with. I expect to see results or legal action will be taken against this fraudulent company.Review from Ashton H

Rating: 0/5 - ******** was my customer service representative and was not helpful. He did not help me resolve my issues and that was after I was left on "hold", (just sitting the phone down on the desk) and proceeded to take a personal phone call. I heard him being rude to that customer service representative in the background as well. Overall not pleased.Review from Susan R

This company! They keep saying disbursement is on the way but it never arrives! Then I call, email and have to start all over with them and again they say the same thing....It will be 3-5 days. They keep stalling and nothing ever happens! What is their problem? This is NOT their money!Review from Luke R

Throughout the past month I have been sending emails to my sales person, the call center, and help service to close my life insurance policy through a Full Cash Surrender. I've been told multiple times that this process takes 10 business days before a check will be in the mail. It has been well over 10 business days. I have not received a single call or email confirming that this is being processed. Think more long term than I did before working with One America. If you ever need to close an account after opening, I hope you have a better customer experience than me. I will not recommend One America to anyone I know due to the horrible service I've received.
