First Hawaiian Bank is incompetent and rude, no joke. I called to update account information for a home loan following my mom's death. The mortgage service center representative was hostile and condescending. After three phone calls with her, the problem remains unsolved. *** has no sympathy for kama?aina. I regret this loan with First Hawaiian Bank and am refinancing with another local bank to avoid FHB's rude and incompetent mortgage service center. Go elsewhere if you want to a home or auto loan, these FHB clowns don't respect your time and money. Credit unions and other local options are lower rate and honest.Review from Eric P

Short version: I despise this bank. I have a vehicle loan with them from the dealership. They won't give me an online account, so I can't pay online. I've tried calling for various reasons, including returning calls, and have never gotten through. Email? They don't answer. I have no way to pay my loan but by check. I had my bank send them monthly checks for me. Problem solved? Not at all. First Hawaiian was too negligent to open and process the checks and sent me to collections, damaging my credit score. I found out after my score dropped, went to the bank to inquire why, and they discovered months of checks they hadn't processed. "Sorry, we can't undo reporting you." Do not do business with this bank.Review from Delia A

I went to their ***** Branch to make a deposit. I was turned away because I did not have an ID to deposit Two Hundred Dollars Cash. ****** tells me- the bank needs to know who is in front of them depositing cash. Really? I understand cash over ********* for CTR purposes or cash for ******* or more for MIL purposes but Two hundred? Never had such an experience in dealing with banks for over 40 years. I asked to speak to a manager. ******, their customer service manager comes out and the only reason she can give me is "It is the bank's policy". This bank do not have knowledgeable employees who can make sense of their own policies. My conclusion is: This is not a bank that value its customers. It looks like they are tracking down people who use cash.Review from Kimberly C

I have been with them about 3 years now and I have never had so many fraudulent transactions on my account. Do they have inferior protection software or what? I have had to have several new debit cards issued and I find that ridiculous. I believe they have little to no protection on accounts.Review from Jason N.

I have been a loyal customer with ********************** for over 20 years. I went into the ewa beach branch to pay off my auto loan. I was told my pay off amount was about $2450.00. I gave the teller $2500.00 and received my change. One month later I called to let them know that I havent received my title yet. I was told that they would follow up and that I should receive it soon. At no point was I told that I still had a remainder balance. Fast forward 3 months after paying off the loan. I received an email from trans union that my credit score had dropped because I was 30 days delinquent on my auto loan with First Hawaiian bank. I immediately called First Hawaiian bank to find out what was going on. The customer service representative informed me that I still owed $0.49 on my loan and that someone from the loan department would contact me. I thought once I gave the bank the loan pay off amount in full that I was done with this. Now I found out that my credit score has dropped. It would have have been a shame to think that my truck could have been repossessed over $0.49. ** also shocked that no one from First Hawaiian bank has reached out to inform me that my loan is delinquent. As a customer for so long I would have thought that they would have had more care for a customers best interest. I hope that this can be resolved and my credit score restored.Thx for your help and I hope this situation can help others not go through what Im going through.Review from RA A

Of all the *** branches, the Moanalua branch located on Mapunapuna rates as the worst of the worst and deserve only less than a zero. Unfortunately, I can't rate these mouth breathers less than the literal, non-existent customer service they provided me. Especially, the guy that works the business teller window. Talk about unprofessional. The branch did not have too many customers in line at the time but I already waited in the business teller line for over half an hour. So like the person in front of me who couldn't wait any longer, I moved over to the regular customer line. But I finally see the business window open up. As soon as I walk up to the window, this guy takes off like he needed a big dump. I wait and I wait longer wondering wth. So I just can't wait any longer due to an appointment I had. As soon as I turn my back from the window, I hear the same teller say, "Next in line, please." I turn around and the guy he calls up to the line literally brushes up against me. Wow what just happened there!! You think this teller would have some common courtesy, call me back to the window and apologize with, "Sir, sorry for the wait." You would think having a business account at a reputable financial institution affords you some perks. Nope, this place treats everyone like the bottom of their dirty shoe. If you plan on taking a chance and need an account opened or have any account transactions, make sure you have nothing on your schedule that day. Better yet just stay away from this branch if you can, unless it means life or death desperation.Review from William S

Since the Core System Upgrade First Hawaiian Bank has failed to get my automatic payments from my *** done on the dated scheduled. They seemed to completely missed this payment this month. Now I can't even log into my account as they have changed how to do this. My *** is a CD and is locked into a certain time maturity, if this wasn't so I'd take all my money somewhere else. First Hawaiian Bank's **** Systems Upgrade has been a nightmare for me, now I can't even log in to check on my accounts.first Hawaiian BankReview from David G

I cannot believe that this institution is considered a bank. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with them . They cant even do something as simple as a debit card without hours of leg work on my part. ASAP I will close my account. No wonder they are closing branches. Will do my banking elsewhere. I have to leave a star rating for this. I guess some star, but would give them a negative.Review from Jason H

Watch out they're looking to make money anyway possible. Even after paying off a home equity loan and selling the house and seeing that my title company provided all documentation I still received bills a year later which have shown up on my credit report
