      I recently ordered 2 pair of high dollar shoes from this store which I have been shopping at for years. When I went in to pick the shoes up, I was informed that they had been placed in another box because the original boxes were damaged. When I questioned the clerk about this , she told me the boxes had been throw away. I then informed her that I wasn’t comfortable with that as I couldn’t check the box label and compare the serial numbers. I ask to see the manager and he wasn’t helpful either. They then called the sales person up there and he proceeded to back to the stock room and come back with yet another box, not the original box … I was told the sales clerk didn’t know what she was talking about but they never produced the original boxes and refused to reimburse my credit card. Don’t buy shoes from this store, I don’t beleive you receive the quality shoes you pay for . Why else would they continue to switch boxes so the numbers can’t be verified???

With staffing shortages and shipping issues across the board, we're not sure why your special ordered shoes were not in the proper packaging - we will make finding out what happened a priority. In the meantime, we've reviewed this incident with John, your regular salesperson and our in-house New Balance expert, and he would like to assure you that the shoes you came to pick up are the shoes you ordered. Please accept our sincere apologies - our goal is for the best customer experience possible, and we regret having failed you.

      I bought two pairs of Dansko shoes on November 22, 2021. Both pairs of shoes are fantastic. The Shoe Market only had one color for one pair, so I went home to see if the vendor's website had any other color options. Dansko did not have another color available, but they did have the same shoe for $50 less than what I paid at The Shoe Market. On November 23, 2021, I returned to the shoe market and returned my shoes. I handed over my shoes and receipt to the clerk, and she processed my return right away. When I inquired about when the money would be returned to my account, the clerk informed me that The Shoe Market does not provide refunds. When I asked where it was posted, she said it was on my receipt and pointed to signs taped to the counter (waist level) that said so. Because the shoes were returned, I had no choice but to accept and sign the store credit receipt. I did tell the clerk that this didn't seem right and that I planned to call Visa to dispute the charge. The clerk then told me, "You can't because you signed the receipt." Wow! What fantastic customer service. Not! At the very least, you'd think they'd offer a price match. I'm hoping for a refund from the shoe store because I don't need another pair of shoes right now and I don't want $160 sitting as a credit. The shoes they sell are of high quality and not cheap. My issue is that the policy was not communicated verbally or posted prominently enough for me to notice. ETM I will also buy brands that the store carry, not sure I will do it with them again.

On the store policy, we will work harder to make sure that our sales people better communicate on how our return policy works.
