Sometime prior to October 29, 2021, I took a handknit decorative mitten to Shores Dry Cleaners to be lined. I proved the lining material and was given a price of $7.00 to line the mitten. I also took in a pair of ladies jeans and asked to have the zipper replaced. The lady who was working the front counter repeatedly asked if I wanted the jeans washed or dry cleaned. I repeatedly told her I did not need/want either one since I had just taken the jeans from the dryer and they had not been worn since being laundered at home. I just wanted the zipper replaced. She filled out the ticket on the computer with the return date of October 29, 2021. On October 29, 2021, I returned to Shores Dry Cleaners on Westchester Drive in High Point and was told that the alterations person was still out with eye surgery and it would be at least November 4, 2021 before the items would be ready. On November 4, 2021, I returned to Shores Dry Cleaners to pick up the items. I was told that the charge was $20.97. I paid in cash and took the items home. I examined the mitten and was very pleased with the work on the mitten. The next day, Friday, November 5, 2021, I planed to wear the jeans to a Board meeting. At this point, I discovered that the zipper had NOT been replaced. The last time I wore the jeans, I had put a safety pin on the inside at the bottom of the zipper placket to keep the zipper from going past a certain point. The pull tab was also slightly crooked. When I examined the jeans, I found that the safety pin was still in place and the zipper pull tab was still crooked. It was oblivious that the zipper had NOT been replaced as I had requested. Apparently, the dry cleaners only washed or dry cleaned the jeans and did NOT replace the zipper. Shores Dry Cleaners has an online contact form (email). I filled this out and stated that I would return on Saturday morning, November 6, 2021 and would appreciate it if they would replace the zipper at NO CHARGE to me since they did not do this as requested. I do not plan to take the jeans back until I get a confirmation that they will replace the zipper at no charge. It is 8:50 a.m on Saturday, November 6, 2021 and I have not had a response from Shores Dry Cleaners.
