First Choice Electrical and Solar is by far the best electrical and solar contractor I have hired in my over 40 years planning, building and managing residential and commercial businesses. I have hired and worked with construction trade contractors from the age of 18. I'm now 65. Three states. I know the trades. First Choice Electrical and Solar installed a large Generac Solar system with back up batters and replaced two electrical panels on our house. When our Generac Solar system experienced recall related issues the company owner quickly and professionally addressed the issues. When installing the solar system the crew worked in rain and cold never complaining. They were all very friendly and professional. Making a dicision on a big expense. I did my due diligence studying solar system effencicy in the cloudy Pacific NW. When **** the owner first set down with my wife and myself he was very ingaging and honest. Honest - I'm also a retired **************** investigator. Trained at the highest level. Meaning - Trained to recognize if a person is being truthful. Using the fliers and information he provided I studied. I knew what to expect in advance. It was my job as the customer to study and insure that the product I was buying was worth the cost. The Generac Solar System has performed as I expected it would. A big plush is the accompanying app and lights on the inverters help my wife and I monitor the system.

Paid $63,200.00 for solar system that did not produce the 98% of ************ needs. Actually produced 27% and saved me $300.00 in first year after being told system would pay for itself in 15 to 20 years. After first year system totally stopped working and First Choice would no honor there 5 year warranty. Generac that supplied the equipment with 10 year warranty refused to warranty because First Choice over loaded 7.6kw inverter with 16kw worth of solar panels which it could never handle. Also battery back up NEVER worked and failed 2 minutes after power outage. Shut down backup system and solar system and they were unable to repair.

  Mr. ****** was a solar customer from 2020 that was simply quoted for a solar system with battery back-up. The proposal sent over for the solar system was built and designed to offset what he submitted as his avg. monthly electrical cost at the time of the proposal, the solar software we utilize to engineer our solar proposals uses a shading analysis on his roof and his avg. monthly electric cost to generate an estimate as to how much of the solar system would offset his current electrical bill. After the solar installation we preformed a free car charger circuit installation (of which we also went above and beyond and purchased his requested ** car charger in attempt to satisfy the customer when our quote clearly ****** that the ** charger is to be customer supplied to plug into the circuit we run). The customer also hired a HVAC company to add AC and a Heat pump with mini-split to his electrical consumption after the solar proposal.  The customer is stating that we have breached our contract and warranty obligations which is simply false and all proof is available.  Customer states that we came out to his property on (4) separate occasions to go over our craftsmanship and explain to the customer that the added appliances (** car charger and AC Mini-split) have raised his electrical consumption in turn lowering the total offset of his initial solar design because he has added an additional $200 at least to his monthly electrical cost after the the fact, with charging a fully electric car and converting to fully electric heating and air, which wasnt calculated on his consumption initially because the circuits did not exist until we installed it for free as a bonus after the solar installation was complete.  On each and every one of the (4) site visits months after the installation was complete Mr. ****** requested we come out and go over his system with him and wanted us to alter the system by tilting the panels for no reason and was verbally abusive and verbally threatening employees to the point they were no longer comfortable meeting the customer. The (4) site visits facilitated when there was no failures in the systems function proves we showed up (when not even necessary) to go over these simple facts stated above, thus us fulfilling our craftsmanship warranty. As per his manufacturers warranty through Generac I advised the customer that we cannot be his service provider for any manufacturers warranty claims because of his verbal abuse and that Generac will send a different service dealer if ever something under warranty with his system fails (note: none of the equipment has failed to date). His claims for not fulfilling warranty obligations is not true, as well as his claims that we have breached contract. We facilitated everything we possibly could to make this customer happy including free drywall repair in the house in multiple locations against our contract that states "no drywall repair". In the attempt to avoid conflict from customer, I gave in and hired a general contractor to repair the small drywall openings around the electrical panel initially but then went on including locations that were not related to our install. One location we repaired his drywall probono the customer had his safe ripped from his wall in his closet resulting in a huge hole in his master-bedroom closet wall.  In kindness we offered to take care of ************ in his wall since a drywall repair specialist was already there and we did it.  Simply nothing could be done to avoid this misplaced anger and hate and it hurts me to have this result with all that was facilitated in attempt to appease him and avoid this.  We have installed over (50) of these specific solar systems and have only two customers that claim we did not to right by them despite the evidence.

If your looking for a solar project, this is not the company, as they are ill prepared for any special job, I had solar put on my roof and my house, and the plan, to use was not followed, questions were not asked prior to any install, and the workers, did what they wanted, and when questioned, all that is said was how we do it, they are not considerate about my house, my property, etc. since this was an extensive job, they would search for product to use without asking, and installation, wasn't explained, and now when I contact them, per Generac, they were my installer, they are pushing off on another contractor, They basically took, my money, gave a two dollar install job, and let. That is how this company works, talk big, and do cheap work.

I dont even know how to respond to this review because the craftsmanship and installation of his system is pristine, passed the Labor and Industries electrical inspection on the first go, and has not had one issue since the installation was complete.  If I could attach pictures anyone would familiar with electrical would agree that it couldnt have been done better, I actually pride myself in this specific install.  We also got PSE to upgrade the customers transformer free of charge to support the output of his solar system.  Thus saving the customer $15,000.00. This customer did install a large and expensive system and it to date has never had any failures or issues at all.  Due to the aggression displayed when on-site working we informed the customer that we could not be his service provider for any Manufacturer warranty claims if any equipment was to fail under manufacturers warranty that Generac would send a different service dealer to address (of which no equipment has failed and his system has run without a hitch) since he apparently didnt like us for reasons unknown.  I knew from the first onsite estimate that dealing with this customer was going to be a challenge and we almost didnt want to take on the job, but despite my instinct I took on the challenge.  In hindsight even with a project this large if I could go back I would without a second thought I turn down this project.  I now know that when I meet someone that I feel is completely unreasonable to not engage in the install because it then turns into an impossible relationship.
