On Oct 29, 2021, I entered into a 2-year contract with ADTs local **** ********************* to take over my existing hardwired burglar, smoke and CO detector system that was less than 1 year old. On May 14, 2022, one smoke detector sounded a false alarm, which brought the entire smoke/CO system in my home down. I called ADT for service and was told to contract California Security Pro. Their service tech visited on June 3, and told me that he is not allowed to touch a hardwired smoke detector system, but that maybe ADT Corp might. On June 15, ADT Corp told me they will not touch a hardwired smoke system either. Both ADT and California Security Pro wanted to install a new WIRELESS smoke system for $1100. Unable to get service from ADT or California Security Pro for my existing system, I called another provider (Fox Security), who said they'd only restore my system if they also took over monitoring. *** came out on Aug 11 and told me all that was needed for my existing hardwired system to work again was to clear a fault on the control panel -- no bad equipment, no bad wiring. I am livid that I lived in my home with no smoke detector system for 2+ months because California Security Pro would not touch my hardwired system. On Sept 6, I called California Security Pro to terminate service and was told that I'd have to pay 75% of the balance of the 2-year contract (approx $700) to terminate the contract. The idea of paying them insults me given the attempts I made to have them get them to get my system back up. When I told them I was unwilling to pay to terminate the contract, they said they would bill me and that if I did not pay it would go on my credit report.
