I had purchased my home in January 2020 and during the purchase agreement the seller agreed to pay for a floor drain system in the basement due to a leaking basement. I had hired LAN construction out of Jasper, IN to put a floor drain system in. LAN required to be paid in full before starting the work and they were paid on January 21, 2020 in the amount of $9,2900.00. LAN stated they did not had install a sump pump and they could tie in to the existing furnace drain. Not knowing anything about floor drains i was unaware the furnace drain in tied into the sewage drain. I have learned LAN did not have a plumbers license when this work occurred and violated a city ordinance by hooking in to the sewage line. After my mother and I walked down to the basement when the work was being completed an LAN employee had struck and large cast iron pipe under the concrete basement floor, When questioned about this pipe LAN has stated the pipe was a non working pipe, Not knowing about what pipes are what I took their word for the non working pipe but have been told the pipe was most likely a sewage pipe. Now in September of 2021 my condensation line has stopped up with sewage and floor the basement floor. Then on February 23rd, 2022, in the same area LAN struck what they said was a non working pipe I had raw sewage and food from the garbage disposal come up out of the floor drain they installed in the same area they had struck what they called a non working pipe. I have made numerous phone calls to the owner of LAN and he only agrees to install a sump pump and pay half the cost. The major issue is there is sewage in the floor drain system, which will need to be cleaned out and is a health issue, and their floor drain system is still tied in to the sewage system. I have reported to LAN I have this coming out of the floor drain and they have not attempted to schedule anyone to look at this and they had provided me with a 25 year warranty on their system should i have any issues.
