I should say Mr. ********************** was the first company to respond, and I appreciate that. However, we decided not to go with Mr. ********************** for the job, partly because it didnt seem like the guy spent very much time diagnosing the issue. In the first place, I informed the company that the house was built in the 70s, and houses built around that time typically use galvanized pipes. So when he noted that we had galvanized pipes and provided a $2300 estimate, they could have asked me or told me they would not work on galvanized pipes and would need a replacement; I just felt like I paid $50 for someone to tell me that.In the end, I called another independent contractor and got the final job done for $500. Despite the difference between a large company and a contractor, theres still a huge labor cost difference. The guys mannerism was somewhat terse; I got the impression as if he didnt want to do the job. Overall, he was still friendly. But please do your research and check with other contractors before you go ahead with the job.Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Edmonton Response

Hi ******, thanks for your feedback. I also appreciate you taking the time to talk to us today, thank you. I agree that ************** should have provided more options than a full replacement in this case, although we do find that often once you start working with galvanized that more problems occur so the work often expands anyway. Ultimately I'm glad that you were able to get the section by the tub replaced without any issue and save some money. Have a great day ******Review from John P P

I called 2 plumbers to snake my main line and was told 150 bucks by one and 200 bucks by the other. I called Mr ********************** and they would not give a price over the phone (first red flag I didn't catch) but said they send a guy out and the dispatch fee is 50 bucks but is waved if work is done (second red flag I missed) when the guy shows up he asks what's up and I explain and he works up a cost on his little pad and says he has to send a camera down all the holes to see what's wrong first so he doesn't break any equipment (note---the other pipes are all draining properly)then shows me a cost on his little tablet says over $600.00 !!! I tell NO! That 2 other quotes say 150 and 200 bucks yours is way too high--he says we don't want to break our equipment so gotta scope camera first. I say why? Others don't need this to snake a line--he says that's the way we do it.I tell him I will pay the 50 bucks cause I said I would and it's the easiest 50 bucks he was going to make today. I paid it--he left--shame on them for such a scam, shame on me for getting caught!Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Edmonton Response

Hi ****, thanks for your feedback. I can see your concerns but I assure you we are not running a scam. We do not quote most work over the phone because it is almost never what was described once we ***********, so now the quote must change generally people are annoyed. We find this is the fairest way to quote work for both parties. With respect to the price, we aim to cover our costs plus a small profit, from what I have seen in the past the sub $200 drain cleaners will be out of business fairly soon as there is no way they can cover expenses at those prices. Either way ****, I hope you got it all sorted out, have a good day. ******Review from MJ A

The tech arrived on time for minor work done in my toilet tank--replace the flapper valve and replace the fill valve. I couldn't believe the price, $353 and that's with my 5% senior's discount!! I also had to pay to replace the *********** that I didn't need, as it came with the "package" and he couldn't null it. I could have bought a whole new toilet for that price or bought the two needed pieces and hired a handyman for half that price. I debated to just pay for the service call but in the end got the work done. Now I feel like a fool for doing so. I do feel better warning others tho. I've used Mr ********************** in the past when their prices were much more sane but will never ever, ever, ever do so again and believe me I won't recommend them to anyone. And I will tell everyone I know about this and they will spread the word to many others too. Mr ********************** should be ashamed of themselves. I don't want to leave any stars but had to choose one.Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Edmonton Response

Hello *******, thanks for leaving your feedback. With respect to the price I understand your frustrations. With the inflation we've been experiencing we have had to balance the prices of our offerings with the costs of doing business and have ultimately not raised our prices at the same pace of inflation for this reason, but prices have gone up and I acknowledge the pain that it causes, especially for those on a fixed income. With respect to the flex supply, the tech was correct in not removing it from the package. While the old one looked fine, the seals do dry up over time, and while they generally don't leak from the original installation, they often will after they have been disturbed. For that reason we replace them every time we break the seal as the risk this presents is not worth the savings of not changing the flex supply. With respect to hiring a handyman, I completely agree this would be cheap in comparison to hiring any plumber, especially since they can't carry insurance against plumbing repair issues as they are not plumbers. I'm sorry that we weren't ultimately able to see eye to eye on this, but I wish you all the best. ******Review from Collin T

I had a city line blockage that 2 other teams were unable to clear, but ***** had the right tools for the job, After arriving he listening courteously to my concerns and then explained his plan. He got right to work and after more than 3 hours of non-stop work the blockage was cleared! Thank you for getting me through this tough spot Mr ****** team!Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Edmonton Response

We had bad experience with this company. A few years ago, the sump pump in my home stopped working and needed a replacement. One technician came did the job, charged it more than $500 . And with in a year, a pump was broken, we called the company, they send the same technician to come to replaced with another pump. And charged us $400, even it is still in the warranty time frame. The reason the pump was broken is because the technician did not put a stand under the pump which made the pump suction to close to the bottom and sucked in some small rocks. I complained by calling the company and got negative response.
