Originally the company was hired to do a roof on our garage suite. Everything went fine with that job. They then offered to help us with finishing the exterior of the building and that’s when the issues started. Hardie board siding was installed completely wrong with improper trim on top of a home wrap that wasn’t even water resistant. As soon as it rained the improper trim let the water in and the improper home wrap actually absorbed all the water. Because of the improper trim and home wrap, the plywood was also soaked and water was able to get into the insulation and drywall. When portions of the drywall were removed, there was mould growing on the studs from dampness. When we wrote about our experience on multiple review websites, the aggressive and rude owner showed up at our house with a letter saying he was going to sue us for damaging his reputation. When we should him text messages and emails with his manager that proved that nothing we had said was untrue, he then said that we should have come to him rather than dealing with the manager. I’m not sure how it is the consumers responsibility to know the hierarchy of a company when we had been dealing with the same person the entire time. Months went by before the exterior was taken off and they started to slowly put it back on properly. Because of the water ingress issues, all interior work was also delayed. The issues with RBM put our project behind ONE YEAR. That’s one year of missed rent, and additional expenses for having to redo the damaged Rawalpindi and insulation. RBM actually “helped” redo the insulation and drywall but did a terrible job and also cost us more money to reschedule mudding and taping guys. Furthermore, the delay in the project has made us miss out on last years hot real estate market and we are now selling in the worst market in over 10 years. We paid in full for a delayed project which in the end looks like garbage. But the worst part was the stress of dealing with the owner.
