If it was possible to give zero stars, that is what I would leave. I purchased a new home in Aug 2020 and the builder purchased a pre-cast step manufactured and installed by rolling mix. In less than one year, the step has cracked in multiple locations, the most serious of which is from one corner to the opposite corner indicating it was not installed properly on the supports and shims. It also makes a popping sound when you walk on it, similar to the sound a chair or table makes when it only sitting on 3 legs, not the full 4. The step also pools water inward on the tread and inward against the house wall because it was not poured within proper tolerance. This causes water to accumulate and not drain off the step like it should, and ice over when it's colder out making it hazardous to walk on. My two toddlers and I have tripped on this more times than I care to mention. When I asked rolling mix to investigate and fix this, their response was "they need reassurance from me as homeowner" to cover the cost of the investigation into why its cracking because they are not prepared to absorb the cost for their defective step and MOST likely their defective install of the step. What a joke! No response since to have this safety hazard addressed. **** ***** *** *********** ******** ******* even admitted these problems are both present when he came out to examine the step unannounced, and should not be occurring with a pre-cast step. DO the ethical thing rolling mix, and fix your defective step!
