In early November 2021 we hired this company (****** *****) to complete a bathroom renovation and left a $7,000 deposit under the understanding that the job would start in early February 2022. As the project start date was approaching my wife reached out to the company to inquire about when it would be starting. She was advised that due to supply chain issues it would be delayed and they would reach out to let us know when it would be starting. On March 8th we reached out asking to have the construction started the week of April 4th (we picked this day because we could schedule the spa to be closed that week and we had not heard anything at all from the company regarding when the construction would start and we needed a commitment). ****** replied on March 12th that he was out of town but would contact us the following week. No such contact was made. I contacted ****** via email on March 31st to have a conversation on Friday April 1st to cancel the project which he replied to. He then called my wife in the morning on April 1 and left her a voicemail indicating the project was starting the following Monday. That call was quite confusing given he had already seen my email. We advised that we had to cancel the job. We run a home based spa business that has to be closed for this project to take place. We hired them to do the work during the start-up phase of the business which they did not do. We then gave them the week of April 4th as a our last available window but they never agreed to that date until the Friday before - which no longer worked for us as we made other business decisions for that week after not hearing from them. To close our business for the time required at this point during the busy season would cost us in excess of $5,000 in lost profit. Their resolution is to charge us full retail for the Vanity (which we would then have to store until we can do this project) and over $1,000 in restocking fees.
