We called Cougar mechanical in ******* for service on our furnace and were told somebody would be here by 5 oclock they did not indicate that that was considered after hours, nor did the technician and then we were charged after hour pricing for labor and a significant up charge for a part (a furnace igniter) that retails at $50, but was charged to us at $296. When we left a poor review on ******** the owner of the company responded with untruths and hurtful responses.

As a business owner we appreciate reviews that are honest. However, when the review is incorrect it can be very damaging to a company and that is why all platforms give the customer and company an opportunity to respond. This customer ended up paying $210 plus tax for the part and labor to install a hot surface ignitor. The customer listed a price in previous reviews as well as this one and stated the price was only for the part and not at the $210 plus tax price. They did not mention it included labor and painted an ugly picture that was inaccurate. Yes the customer was charged overtime rates initially because after 4 pm the technician goes into overtime and the customer wanted same day service. However, the customer called the day after the repair and addressed their concerns to me and I provided an adjustment to their credit card at regular time rates. The customer later sent an email stating his satisfaction. Shortly after I completed the refund, the customer posted an untruthful review stating an inaccurate price and indicated it was only for the part when it's for the part and labor, did not mention the refund and posted an invoice at overtime rates, which did not show the adjustment I issued the previous day. This was disappointing to our company because we took every measure to resolve the situation quickly and the customer indicated he was satisfied. Our goal is to respond to all complaints in a professional manner, which has happened in all three of these situations with this customer.

Im not sure where the business cougar mechanical keeps getting the price of 210, I was charged 486, refunded 48 and then 104, so paid 334 total, still way over price. Was never told it was an after hours call, the tech notion did the work without it being authorized and the office person ***** was extremely rude.

A spreadsheet was emailed to ******************* on November 9th at 11 am and customer's wife was copied on the email. The email specifically provided the regular rates of $210 for part and labor for hot surface ignitor. Their card was issued a refund for the difference between overtime rates and regular rates. The customers later posted 2 negative reviews (one on ****** and one on face book) on November 9th at 12:40 pm quoting the overtime rates, stated it was for the part only, posted an invoice with overtime rates and and never mentioned the refund. As indicated above, we can appreciate all reviews but it's important the information is correct in the review.
