Champion Mortgage is one of the worst financial services companies I've ever worked with. They rejected every document I sent, persecuted me with foreclosure notices and were not willing to take even the smallest most reasonable steps to accommodate the issues that occurred after my Mother died. I finally hired a lawyer and ceased trying to work with their insane demands. Fortunately, I had the financial wherewithal to get a mortgage and refinance my Mom's reverse mortgage to get out from under their predatory fees and abusive customer service, but many people don't.

Dealing with this company after the passing of a loved one has been a nightmare. If sending a letter of intent be sure to add the phrase I am requesting an extension to sell the property, or they will reject the letter and not communicate the reason for the rejection until you call to find out. They continue to add frivolous fees to the payoff amount. Before my mother passed she was convinced this mortgage company was doing everything they could to take her property. She even tried to contact the attorney general for help. Dealing with them since she passed I have to agree with her. I see they lost a class action lawsuit before but that didnt seem to change their shady business practices

Horrible mortgage company...in short wasted 4 months of my life and backed out during closing 2 weeks before closure was suppose to happen...LUCKY for me Prmg came to the rescue and within 2 weeks closed on my home...now going on 3 years owning this home and the value went up by 70k already. I hate Champion mortgage and their terrible representatives and i Love PRMG for saving us!!!

My mother and father are Champion clients and both have a ***** of ********* Because there is no option for online submissions, we submitted a copy of the PoA via email. My mother received a letter saying the PoA was rejected, with no explanation. My mother requested a draw from the reverse mortgage to pay for my dad's care. Funds were delayed due to the fact that they misread the PoA, but suggested my father sign the request in person. My father has dementia and is unable to understand many things. HENCE, the ***** of *********Champion claimed that I was ***** of ******** for both of them, which I am not.After calling the office, it was noted that the reason for rejection is that a few pages were turned 90 degrees. ALL in content was legible.

Champion Mortgage is terrible and could care less when a loved one passes on. My Father retired and got a reverse mortgage with them and later on he passed away at 85 years old after living in the home for 20 years. I contacted them about my Fathers passing and was told I had a year to clear the house and leave. I then received a letter 6 months later stating that Champion mortgage did not receive a record of the $1565 homeowners insurance payment and that it was deliquent. I contacted them and told them it was paid on time and that I have a confirmation number for said payment... The lady did not want the confirmation number and said she could not speak to me about the loan because my name wasn't on it. She then said in order to go in to detail about the loan I need to first submit a copy of his death certificate and will. I explained that my Father did not leave a will and she said that I needed an attorney and had to file paperwork with the court. I told her I did not have money for an attorney and she said "all I can say is that the house is already foreclosed" and suggested I leave. I told her the first person I spoke with said I have a year in order to get the house cleared out and any affairs with the property situated... she said "no I do not have a year unless I get an attorney and file the requested paperwork". Stay far away from these cold inconsiderate people at Champion Mortgage who just want to steal a seniors home as fast as possible. It's a sad situation when you served your country and worked hard your whole life just to have your home taken from your family after passing. This reverse mortgage practice is sickening to say the least and should be illegal.
