    On September 5, 2023, we hired Best Chimney to repair a chimney leak that was causing damage to our home's interior. Our agreement was for them to fix the chimney leak correctly at an agreed-upon cost. Unfortunately, our experience with Best Chimney has been nothing but a series of disappointments, unethical practices, and financial stress.Incorrect Chimney Repair: Upon their initial visit, Best Chimney did not fix the chimney leak correctly. Instead of addressing the issue as promised, they performed a subpar job that did not resolve the problem. This substandard workmanship resulted in further damage to our home's interior.Unjustified Demand for Extra Payment: When Best Chimney arrived to address the incorrect repair work, they demanded an additional $1000 for a "lift" that had not been mentioned in our initial agreement. This demand was both unexpected and unjustified, as there was no prior mention of this additional cost. Such practices reflect a clear breach of trust and professionalism on their part.Broken Promises: After our disappointment with the initial repair work and the unexpected demand for extra payment, Best Chimney assured us that they would return to correctly fix the chimney leak as originally agreed. However, they failed to show up for their promised appointment, causing further delays and damage to our home.Continued Demands for More Money: To our shock, Best Chimney then contacted us, demanding even more money for the repair work they failed to complete as initially agreed upon. These repeated demands for additional payments are not only unethical but also a blatant attempt to exploit our vulnerability.As a result of Best Chimney's actions, we now have several thousand dollars' worth of damage to our home's interior, which has resulted in extensive financial and emotional distress. Their unprofessionalism, failure to fulfill their commitments, and unjustified financial demands have left us in a state of frustration and despair.

    Our association agreed for this company to do tuck and point and repair some brick work that is needed in units within the community. The Management company we have gave us this information of this company.1. Instead of doing the repairs that were suppose to happen which is tuck point crumbling mortar in areas and crumbled bricks.Instead, he filled in all the weep holes of 5 buildings.2. No supervision - to make sure he was completing what he was suppose to do.3.They sent out an un-experienced person that is employed by Best Chimney -not knowing anything about masonry.The owner of the Best Chimney should be reported, to the Union.

    I received your concerns and I apologize that you feel this way.  You should have contacted my office directly to discuss.  However, before you write a bad review on my company, you should know the facts!

    (1) Whenever your management company contacted us for an estimate, the owner's son and grandson, both whom work for my company, met with your management supervisor at the job site.  They went over in detail what was to be quoted and completed once we received an approval to move forward.  Your supervisor verbally told my guys that he WANTED THE WEEP HOLES COVERED! I am assuming he did not tell the association this.  Once work was completed he called and said we covered the weep holes.  I sent out my crew a second time and we removed the mortar from the weep holes.  No weep holes were covered on the back of the buildings and yes, my guys are experienced!  When a homeowner or in this case, a management supervisor states what he wants done, that is exactly what is done.  

    (2) You make it sound like we were supposed to tuck point the entire five buildings and repair all of the deteriorated bricks and this is not so. The contract says to replace up to 5 bricks per building.  Minor tuck pointing is what was quoted for $ 4,800.00.  We were told to go up so many rows on the buildings and tuck point and this is what was completed.  

    (3)  I have been in business over 55 years.  I have never been told I need reported to the union?  Really?  Union??? 

    (4) Apparently, you have not been well-informed.  Not to mention, Select Management/ The Pointe has not been out any money.  There is currently an outstanding balance of $4,800.00. 

    (5) You never contacted our office directly to discuss this before writing to the Better Business Bureau.  I'm not talking about *** calling either.  I am talking about the person that wrote to the BBB.  You never gave us the opportunity to discuss the issues with you which in return is not fair to my company.  We could have met with you on site so you could have defined your nature of concerns and we would have went over and corrected according to what you thought wasn't done providing it was within reason.
