Had $30k of windows installed. 8 large windows had manufacturing defects identified during install and they were replaced. Months later the same windows had a different defect and they called to say they were happy that the manufaturer would cover the window cost and I would only have to pay for install (again). Obviously that is ridiculous and they could go the the manufacturer for damages but instead they want me to pay twice for a job that was never done correctly. So I have engaged a lawyer who is now going to review code violations so I will not only get my windows but more than likely they will be different windows from the code issues that are being uncovered. Know your legal rights in ******** (my wife is a civil lawyer so that helps), much of the language in the contract you sign won't hold ** in arbitration or court.Review from scott h

K&H framed in 2 bathroom windows to the point where they will not open because the trim blocks them opening. My 80 year mother did not open these windows for 9 years. I contacted K&H about their workmanship and product installation mistake. They want $150 just to come and look at the issue. K&H **** they stand behind their work. They do NOT stand behind their work, and are much more concerned about making money off elderly folks on fixed incomes.Would rate zero stars if I could!Review from Enmar H

K&H Home Solutions cashed our deposit for a project and then forgot about us. This was our second and last time doing business with K&H Home Solutions. We had a straight forward exterior door replacement in our kitchen and wanted a high quality door to ensure our house would be insulated properly over winter. We signed the contract on 9/16/2022 and were told the process would take ***** weeks, putting installation at the end of December at the latest. They were very responsive and quick to send out the contract, but once the contract was signed and deposit was received they showed little to no interest in keeping the promised timeline. It took 3 weeks just to get someone out to take final measurements to order the door and would have been much longer had we not followed-up multiple times. We received a text message on 11/3/2022 that the door was ordered, 7 weeks after the contract was signed. After inquiring why it was just now ordered, we were told that the door had already been ordered and they were just updating the order to include the trim. In January, the representative from the door manufacturer (Provia) called to update me on the status, during the phone conversation I asked when he received the order from K&H, after looking it up in his system he confirmed it was received on 11/4/2022. Not only did this contractor forget to place the order, they then lied to us about it. K&H does not make the door nor do they install it, the only thing they had to do was take measurements and submit the order which they failed to do. This is not a competent or honest contractor, and I would avoid them at all costs. We have been sure to share this experience with all of our neighbors and friends.Review from Kathryn C

We had our second door installed this past month - our first one was such a great experience that we wanted to continue working with K&H. Upon installation of our second door, it was noted that this custom door that we waited at least 3-4 months for was not custom and that additional insulation had to be added due to a gap in door height and the available space. This was not advised to us when we initially agreed to this almost $4k door. It was disappointing to say the least, but we thought, based on our previous experience, that our sales rep and the company would want to help us understand what happened. It was discovered that there was an issue with the measurements, and we have been following up for the past month with the sales rep and any other contacts we have / can find to get a resolution, but no one will respond any longer. We will not use this company again. Even though this may be business for them, this was a significant investment for us, and now we have spent $4k on something were not truly happy with and can do nothing about.K&H Home Solutions Response

We regret that this customer was not happy with our job, especially in light of her being a returning customer. All customers are important to us regardless of the amount of work we are doing. We investigated the circumstances of this job, and this is what we found:The contract specified ******************* as opposed to custom. Patio doors start out using standard sizes because the standard sized 6-foot door will fit nicely into the vast majority of openings for that door. Where necessary we will customize the measurements if the opening is more than 2 inches larger in either dimension. This opening height was 81 and our door height is 79.5.The opening exterior for this door was brick as opposed to siding on her previous job which meant we had to handle this installation differently than the previous one. Finally, we could have ordered the new door 1.5 larger but that would have added approximately $500 to the price and eliminated the door having blinds in the glass, which was a feature the homeowner wanted since that was specified in the contract and she had that in her previous door. Blinds are not available in custom sized doors. We felt the most cost-effective way to accomplish completing the job without additional cost for the 1.5 and provide her with the features she wanted was to apply a 2 trim piece to the top of the door after we installed the foam insulation, which is there to maximize the patio doors energy efficiency. We are sorry that this homeowner was not happy with the way her door was installed. I would be happy to speak with her to go over anything else regarding this job in the hope it would help her understand why the installation was done this way.Review from R. D.

I had windows I had purchased from K&H under warranty. Seals had broken in two windows, so I called and let them know I believed these windows were under warranty. They did not advise or check my original contact which I could not locate. They stated it was a $90 fee to have them come out and evaluated the windows and that the fee would be charged even if windows are under warranty (don't recall the warranty stating this). Anyway, turn out the two small transom windows were not part of the original replacement contract. When I asked **** why he did not tell me this when I had contacted them, he said that I am supposed to verify warranty coverage and they don't look up past contracts to determine if those windows are covered until you have paid your $90. What kind of c*** is this? They could have taken the time to know which windows I was referring about and reviewed my original agreement and then could have informed me that these two small transom windows were not covered. They did not do that and did not seem to care. Be very leery of what they tell you. Truth is hard to find with this company and particularly their warranty person ****.K&H Home Solutions Response

This customer purchased these windows in May 2014. They purchased 19 windows at that time. Generally, a purchase of that size would be for all the windows in the house so we wouldnt automatically know if he still had windows in his house that we didnt install without him telling us that. We were not aware he had windows in his house that were not purchased from K&H until we went out there & saw them. Unfortunately, the customer was aware he had windows that K&H had not installed and if he said that originally, we would have been alerted to check our records. We did not deceive this customer nor hide the truth from him. We apologize for the confusion on this however we had no way of just knowing that just from the service call. Considering the confusing circumstances, we would refund your $90 trip fee this time. Please contact ******************* if you would like us to do that.Customer Response

This is untrue. I did not realize those windows were not originally replaced. You have the contract you should have checked. Stop insinuating I should have know. You have the records! You pass the blame to the consumer. You should have at least not charged me the $90 or split it in such a situation. Don't insult me by saying I tried to pull something on you. Your professionalism leaves much to be desired.
