Predatory renting tactics. BRC acquired the building I lived in for 4 years prior. Asked if we wanted to move to a renovated unit or stay in our same place. We opted to stay in our place. Then on 12/20/2023, 5 days before Christmas, they gave us a Notice to Vacate by 1/31/2024. When we elected to stay in our apartment, we were never notified or told that we would be kicked out in 5 months. I have never missed a rent payment, so its obvious they scammed us into paying rent until they wanted us out. I had 2 maintenance requests pending at the time, neither of which were addressed. Both were closed after we were forced to move out. They are rude on the phone, they do not answer their office doorbell, and their hours of operation on ****** and other websites are incorrect, as they often leave the office around 4 pm without any warning. They will shut off power and water without warning to do repairs, and they will not always alert their residents. Worst property management company I have ever rented from. It should be illegal to do what they did.

This company is terrible! They take over a complex and run out the tenants. They still are trying to charge me rent and late fees after I have been out of my old apartment. You can't contact anyone ever. They aren't personable at all. They hate their residents. They needed one more month rent from me more than I needed it. A giant company needed 900 dollars more than I did apparently and they are still trying to get my money. They reported the fees and rent I don't owe to my credit and that went down too. BRC is awful! ***************************** is the least helpful lady there.

Company f could not care less for their residents. They do not respond to maintenance requests, even when they are emergencies. They continually raise rent prices when there are open MANY open units in the complex, and they only pretend to care about you u til youre under lease with them. Then they disappear. They need to be help accountable and something needs to change

In the last 20 days I've been left without a bathroom (no toilet, no shower) and raw sewage in my bathtub/toilet for a total of 8 days combined (and counting). I was told by the emergency line 2 weeks ago to:"I don't know what to tell you, you will have to use the gas station bathroom" It has happened again and I'm being told that it will be fixed on Monday however it has already been 2 days and Monday will make it 5 days with raw sewage and no bathroom facilities.I have called the building manager (******) repeatedly. No response. I've called ****** bc she leased me the apartment, no response.The only communication I have received is by ***************************** who is the one telling me there is no one until Monday. I've reported the exact same issue, toilet gurgles then sewage spews up thru the tub and toilet, this is not from my use this is random upon my waking up in the morning. The last repair left raw sewage all over my bathroom and tub that I had to clean. This is NOT SAFE nor SANITARY living conditions. I will not be paying anymore to this company as the ******** housing board has advised me not to and to get an attorney to retrieve my lost days of apartment use this month.I have also went over a year with no heat, the heat was supposedly fixed about a month ago and a note was left that it was "rigged" until part came in, the heat never shut off, my home was 85 degrees, I called almost daily for 2 weeks stating I was scared of a fire due to the heat level, no shut off, and very loud rattling noises, again, NO RESPONSE. Not a single employee will call me back. I've sent a notice to vacant to every person's email I could find. I know several people from my building that have left with same issues and per ****** reviews, it appears to be the way this company runs.

I've been staying at a property that BRC Real Estate Corporation acquired for about 7 months now. They acquired the property around 2 to 3 months into our lease and have treated the entire complex like a complete slum. We haven't had a working dishwasher since we moved in, and have always had a dangling light fixture in the kitchen exposing hot wires. During repairs they made to our unit (due to sewage backup) they broke our range-oven and after notifying their maintenance team 10s of times and submitting work orders on their "portal" they continue to refuse to repair anything. On top of all of this, at around 5 months into our 12 month Lease they notify us for renewal and claim the lease they have on file would be ending after 6 months. What they sent me is not only partially ****** out documents but one with my signature and initials forged, fraudulent documents. They proceeded to then try to get me to sign a new lease with elevated rent after I told them I'd be willing to update their documents as long as the rent wasn't raised, they refused. I've contacted them over phone as well as them having reached out to me and all I've gotten is intimidation to sign their elevated lease, and threats of eviction, continuously. As a tenant I have never missed rent or been late, and have been completely cooperative with the landlord but that has left me without a working oven, dishwasher, a dangling light fixture in the kitchen and threats of my livelihood all because we were locked in at cheaper rent before their acquisition.
