      My wife and I moved from ******** to ***********. I paid for a 20ft container and months later after sleeping on a floor for months found out that the moving company decided to change from a 20ft container to a 40ft one without our knowledge or consent. This was all despite the fact that ALL correspondence for months we were told our shipment was in a 20ft container. Even the vessel itinerary snapshot that I asked for and eventually got stated "20ft container". Now just prior to delivery, the additional $5300+ USD in upgrade fees is being passed to us and they refused to release our household goods from the *********** storage facility until we pay for their upgrade. This led to the accumulation of the thousands of dollars of fees and charges not disclosed on the receiving end totalling approximately $20,000+ (mix of USD and NZD).After posting my initial review (which I removed per their request when they offered reimbursement) I was finally contacted by ******* and *******. ******* expressed his concern of "not making much on this deal" (exact words) regarding my shipment but at the time still refused to release our shipment for delivery resulting in my family and I accruing more and more storage fees. ******* and ******* said they could reduce costs ONLY if we deleted our reviews, but they would only consider it if we removed our reviews.       We hired this American Moving to move us from ** to CO. While the loading met expectations, the delivery failed miserably. From the point of loading our home, we had no proactive communications on the delivery. I would call and leave a message with the move coordinator and wouldnt hear back. I would call the Salesperson/Owner and he would call back but didnt seem to have complete information. The delivery date changed last minute. When the movers arrived at our new home it was in a U-Haul truck and trailer with some of our furnishings strapped to the top of the trailer. The two men who arrived had just driven ***** miles. ***** was no additional crew. ***** was no supervisor. They didnt do a walk-through of our home. They didnt ask questions. They didnt take any steps to PROTECT our new home. When we asked about protection, they responded they didnt have any. They eventually left in the moving truck to buy some. We called American Moving to state our dissatisfaction We were told this is the crew that was available and there was nothing else they could do.My wife and I (both in our 60s) helped carry many of the boxes and directed some of the boxes to be put in the garage to save time due to the small crew. In the end, the unloading took from 11:10am to 9:30pm and the movers left before everything was complete. Several pieces of furniture were damaged and a new carpet soiled from the movers shoes. We will process an insurance claim for the furniture. We hired and paid $15,000 for a professional moving company. This is far from what we received. This was, at best an amateur, unorganized, uncaring delivery of our furnishings (repacked in a smaller U-Haul truck and strapped to the top of a trailer)! If we had known this was the service we'd receive we never would have hired ******/American Moving. Even after requesting to speak to the salesperson/owner of American Moving, he hasnt responded and delegated any interactions to a subordinate.
