One of the worst experiences I have had. First subcontractor showed up alone, unable and unwilling to move furniture. Tried to convince us to lay flooring over old tile. Had to bring in new subcontractor to finish job. Overheard job supervisor tell new guy he would pay him extra.Second part of job started on Labor Day with no notice to us so we had to empty room first thing that morning. Had to lend tools to both subcontractors. Had to drill holes in new tile to replace threshold strip ourselves.Footprints charged us $600 for floor leveling compound saying they used 6 bags when they only used 2. Bags cost $33.75 at Home Depot.Would never trust or use this company again.Footprints Floors Response

In-home construction can be an inconvenience and we do our best to prepare customers for what to expect but unknowns are always possible. After researching your project history, we do see that leveling was included in the proposal and you are welcome to contact ***** or ***** if you would like to see a copy of that again. Also, while you are able to see bag cost from a store, this does not include the labor involved in the work which is what you hired us to do for you. As we had previously committed to you, a check is in the mail to you for the difference owed on the unused bags. I paid them to repair the floors and refinish them. They attempted to refinish my floors twice. First attempt the Stain looked good, but once the polyurethane went down there was some kind of reaction and caused bubbles to form throughout the floors and stairs. So they decided to try it again, once again the stain looked good, but once the finish went down something happened. It caused the floor to look like it was now painted and not stained. The bubble issue also came back, so their attempt to fix that issue did not work. They never tried to fix the stairs, so the stairs still have bubbles. Instead they just gave me some money off the price of the stairs, but comes nowhere close to what I paid for them to be done in the first place. I also found that they only attempted to fix part of my closest and not the whole thing. They charged me for a few things that were never done. 1. They were supposed to water pop the floors, which if this was done might of prevented them from needing to put 2 coats of stain down. 2. They charged me to haul away trash from my property, but just ended up putting it in the dumpster I already paid for and had a weight limit allowed.3. They never put up plastic barriers or taped anything off. So my kitchen and bathroom were dusty. Along with my baseboards being damaged and other things.4. They were supposed to buff my floor after the second coat of finish before putting the 3rd coat on. This never happened both times. They got stain all over my walls, banister, doors, and bathroom sink and kitchen floor. So now I need to sand and repaint multiple things throughout the house. Also learned they fired the 1 guy who was the lead on doing the work at my house.Would add more details if I had the room and was allowed. So this is a short version of some of the issues I had with the company.Review from R. D.

Headquarters will do nothing when you have a problem with an unresponsive local franchise. I have called and left messages and no one has called me back. They take no ownership of their name and say "not our problem -- that's a local issue." What a reprehensible company! My floors are damaged from THEIR people. It's THEIR name. It's THEIR franchise. Disingenuous response from the company. Called twice and left two messages with the answering service before resorting to BBB. Never heard back until I left a negative review and they tell me to call again and leave yet another message. This is image control, not customer service.Review from Marcus R

We've got one word for you! Professionalism! Footprints Floors provided the superior knowledge and expertise lacking in the construction industry. The in-home estimator and the project manager knew what industry standards are according to the **********************************. The crew used industrial grade equipment, stains (DuraSeal), and finishes (Bona Commercial Grade). We are in love with our new hardwoods that were installed and the refinish of the existing hardwoods...totally immaculate! Thanks you Footprints Floors!Review from Tina F

Terrible, hard ***** were installed and stairs were done so poorly that there was a nine inch difference between the top and bottom. Ten staples is what my husband had to have to close the gash on his leg because of this. S**** up our cabinets and ********************* said he would have them fixed never herd from him again. I don't think the ***************** knew what he was doing. Don't use them!! Squeaks everywhere!!Review from Tj L

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with, and the job hasn't even started yet. **** who issued the quote gave me the start date of March 14th three weeks prior, only to find out that day that they moved the start date to Thursday the 17th from 8-9am. **** wouldn't contact me back.I contacted their Headquarters and left a message asking for a return call but never received one. I then contacted the store in my area and the receptionist told she would contact the management team and would have them contact me. Again I received no calls. Thursday came and I was contacted by, I'm guessing the contractor stating that they would be arriving between 1130am-1230pm. That time came and went and was contacted again stating they would now start between 8-9am Friday morning. So again I attempted to contact their Headquarters but can't get anyone to answer. So I left another message and still waiting for a call back. Their communication is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We will see what tomorrow brings but I don't have high hopes. Won't be doing business with them again. Clearly from the other reviews nothing gets done. Bad management horrible company.Review from Don S

Absolutely one of the worst home contracting experiences of my life! My Tile install has been the most stressful time ever...the contractor they sent always showed up late, took long lunches and worked so fast while he was here that he was constantly making mistakes that I would catch and force him to fix. On the last day he rushed through everything while I was at an appointment so he could get done before I got home to inspect and he ended up leaving things a mess - using the wrong color caulking, doing the caulking work of a 12 year old., leaving grout and mastik smudges all over walls and trim, leaving damaged to the walls and cabinet, leaving the tiles with haze, and everything just left messy for me to clean so the he could run off and start his next project. I had the manager come and look over the mess (******), and he agreed with the quality concerns that I had and vowed to fix it 100% to my liking. Well, it is 6+ weeks later and I still havent had the problems fixed...he keeps promising me that I am his #1 priority, but all I get are empty promises. Their contractors are unreliable, unprofessional, marginally skilled, and have 0 interest in customer satisfaction - they just feed you an endless bag of lies to string you along endlessly.
