I'm in the process of getting dental implants, which first involves the extraction of all my teeth, then the fitting of some temporary dentures, and finally the installation of the implants. I was told by my insurer *************** Advantage) that they would cover the total expense for the procedure, and I'd have no co-pay. ***** directed me to the Perfect Teeth Specialty Center in ******. Before the extraction, Perfect Teeth didn't inform me that although Cigna would cover 100% of the cost of local anesthesia, they would cover 0% of the cost of the intravenous sedation, which Perfect Teeth recommended. After the extraction procedure was completed, Perfect Teeth handed me a bill for $1,857 for the intravenous sedation! I'm on a fixed income and certainly wasn't prepared for this. They just suggested I apply for a CareCredit loan to pay the bill. I believe I was manipulated into using a very expensive sedative, even though they knew that ***** would cover 100% of the cost of the local anesthesia. I feel they should have clearly explained all my options beforehand and encouraged me to choose the affordable option. Although I am very upset with the unethical billing practices of Perfect Teeth Specialty Center in ******, I have no complaint against the oral surgeon.

At 3:50PM on May 3, 2023, I entered the front office of the Perfect Teeth Specialty Center for a scheduled appointment with ******************************************, DMD. Immediately upon entering, I noted ************ casually postured across the back counter, openly flirting with the office assistant in a verbally loud manner. I ignored this, and approached the receptionist to check in for my appointment. The receptionist took down my info, and ************ continued his conversation loudly in the background. At this point, ************ began loudly repeating that he owns a number of AR-15 rifles, and shoots them frequently. The volume of **************** conversation was loud enough to interrupt my conversation with the receptionist. At this point, I expressed I was uncomfortable continuing with the appointment considering **************** behavior, and requested a separate dentist. I was informed that ************ is the only dentist available. Upon hearing this, ************ immediately became aggressive and interjected into our discussion, telling me that he did not want to take me as a patient anyway because he did not "like my attitude." I repeated that he was acting in an unprofessional manner, and indicated I'd file a report with the state regulator. ************ continued to aggressively assert that his previous remarks were acceptable. Without prompt, he repeatedly referenced the Second Amendment, and said he had "no interest in talking to complete idiots." At this point, I pulled my phone out to record the encounter. ************ approached me aggressively from behind the counter, and raised both of his shirt sleeves for an unknown reason. At this point, ************ remarked that he would still be able to shoot me with his rifle despite our close proximity. At this point, I backed towards the door and exited the establishment. ************ informed me he may go to the shooting range to blow off steam. I exited the establishment at approximately 4:00PM and immediately filed a formal complaint.
