Travelers Haven is an absolute nightmare to deal with. As a property owner and founding member of a property management LLC, , I recommend you stay clear of this organization. They do not screen the tenets, have unethical business practices, and are late or no pay regarding leasing agreements. We leased a house to them and we reduced the security deposit for them based on the fact that they were a "professional" business, and this would only be for 90 days. The tenant had a history of destroying rental properties and being asked to leave. We found this out after moving in and spot inspections revealed food containers left open on counters, trash on the floors, human and dog f**** on living surfaces and used syringes left on table/counter tops. Photographic evidence was provided to Travelers Haven and little was done to correct the problem. They failed to pay the pet cleaning deposit as well. After moving out, there was a balance of ~$350 which we've been getting the run-around trying to recover. Stay clear!Review from Michael M

Working as a travel nurse, it's easier to have someone secure a rental for you since it's unlikely you'll be able to go and look yourself. Especially if you're on a contract 20 hours away. My first couple of experiences were fine. Did have a lapse in telling me the code and location of lockbox in an apartment complex until last minute after a ********************** things happen, the rest of the stay was great. (I did receive notices of payment past due date even though I handled none of that process) so I had to contact my agency recruiter to inform him. My most recent experience has been h*** I extended a work contract and was moving to a pet friendly place. The area I'm in is terribly expensive, but that's managable if the unit is a fit. Well, I booked a unit that seemed to be an ok fit via pictures, but was given 0 information. I knew it was small, but staged to be decent in the pictures. (Mind you, you can't view the units beforehand even if you're in the area. UNTIL a lease is signed) so I arrive at the unit, turns out it's a tiny shack in the back of another renter's house. It was disgusting, had cracks in the roof, zero privacy due to year long tenants 2 feet infront of my unit and being in THEIR BACKYARD! No idea who should be on the property and when, which is a safety concern especially considering after discovering exactly where it was, it was evident via statics and actually being there, that it had the highest crime in the city. I immediately contacted all parties to inform them that it is not going to work. The landlord said they won't be fixing anything as it's fine. The company is currently working with me to see what our options are, but it's bleak. I should never have to worry about stepping outside and seeing directly into someone's shower from an open bathroom window. That's unacceptable. Failure to disclose current damage and any privacy/safety concerns for almost $3000 a month is completely asinine and predatory.Review from John F

Used Travelers Haven for a rental in *********. They ended up getting me a corporate rental for over $3000 a month that was in a dangerous complex. While we lived there swat raided an apartment next door and the gates never worked right or were open. When we went to move out we followed their instructions and left the apartment spotless. We even were out weeks early. Travelers Haven failed to get the furnishings out, didnt meet the furniture company to return the furniture so they charged my company a $250 furniture pickup fee. Since the furniture was in the apartment for another week plus they charged us rent for that time. They also did not return our deposit. I told ************************* this is completely unacceptable, he agreed with me and agreed we did what we were supposed to do. Then the next day left a message saying his supervisor is keeping the charges. No communication after that. We feel scammed especially after not putting up a fuss about the substandard living conditions they were overcharging us for. Beware before doing business with this company, they dont know what they are finding for people and will pick your pockets at the end.Review from Richard D

I had a horrible experience with Travelers Haven. This business lacks the dedicated customer attention and follow-up that is required to provide the services they attempt to sell. They are a "middle man" agency that is supposed to act on your behalf with the local leasing offices they work with in several states. All good in the beginning engagement but after you've been "hooked", you are left hanging and dealing with major inconveniences. I would NOT RECOMMEND their business to anyone, especially those seeking corporate apartment rentals. Here is my story:1. Made arrangements to lease a corporate unit in ********* for a government job. Upon arrival, the 1BR unit was locked with no way to get in as Travelers Haven had not made appropriate arrangements with the local leasing office to ensure a new tenant (myself) would have access without restrictions. I had to scramble for a hotel room in the late evening hours. Thanks Travelers Haven.2. Corporate rental means you also get essential kitchen utensils and kitchen equipment. I was provided with a malfunctioning toaster and even though I was promised a replacement, it never happened. Thanks Travelers Haven.3. They failed to secure an extension of their unit with the local leasing office, which forced me to vacate early despite having requested an extension as a corporate tenant. Due to lack of response, the leasing office had to assign the unit to an external interested party. Thanks Travelers Haven.4. Had to reach out a month and a half after abruptly ending lease to remind them of my deposit. Surely they would have not bothered to give it back had I not been fending for myself. Thanks Travelers Haven.5. Was deducted $600+ move-out fee for cleaning and carpet replacement after occupying a small 1 BR unit for just 2 months, working 12-hr shifts M-F. Thanks Travelers Haven.6. The local leasing office had warned me about them --and so did the apartment complex maintenance staff! STAY AWAY!Travelers Haven Response

I just want to thank you for teaching me some valuable lessons about how someone can completely take advantage and hold them in limbo for many days and allow them to lose rent, cancel plans for 2 vacations, and never owe a dime. I had 2 other renters lined up the day I took it off the market for your client. I will never allow this to happen again. Please never use my rental for your client again.Review from Michele D

My experience with Travelers Haven has been a nightmare. My biggest complaint is their customer service and the complete inability to speak to anyone in the company about our contract. I have never felt so frustrated with a company. I am paying over $20,000 for an apartment we never set foot in. Perhaps they are more attentive to corporate relocation companies but if you are an individual family..run far away. You literally can never get a live person to pick up the phone to answer any questions. You call into a main number and a call center person named ******* answers and 100% of the time he is never able to connect you live with the person who are trying talk to. You mainly just sit on hold for 10-15-20 minutes until he tells you the person will call you back (they never do). My husband and I were relocating to the MD/VA area and needed temporary housing. We went with Travelers believing it would be so much easier. We thought - They locate the apartment, furnish it and take care of all of the set up on your behalf. For 3 months it seemed worth it to reduce the hassle. We were told we had to sign an early contract to secure the apartment. We weren't due to move for 2 weeks but we did it. Literally a week into a signed contact we found a house and no longer needed that apartment. We recognized that we have a contract and there are bound to be some fixed costs/service fees but we were hoping they could re-rent or adjust costs. t At the time, we didn't even have keys yet, the apartment was still empty and no furniture had arrived. We called immediately to let them know we wanted to see if they could re-rent the apartment and looked for ways to decrease our costs including halting delivery of rented furniture, turn off cable/internet, cancel pet fee. We understood that there would likely be a cancellation fee, some fixed costs or a month or two where we would at least have to pay rent. WRONG. The only thing they took off was 440 furniture and delivery fee. We were stuck with paying over $4100 a month. They never tried to re-rent the apartment. We signed a contract for three months that included a parking fee for 2 cars, pet deposit, monthly pet fee. Despite numerous phone calls and emails, they are still charging us a pet fee and a parking fee for dogs and cars that never arrived. In the end, it cost us over $21,000 for an apartment we never set foot in. I can't even get someone on the phone who is willing to hear our concerns or complaints. This is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with and they could care less about their clients once the contract is signed.
