On 12/24/21 we were picked up thirty minutes late by a private driver in a dirty, old suburban, which is not what was advertised. I had to call the company three times to reconfirm the details of our trip because the driver was confused. Once delivered to our destination in ************, the driver told me that the company does not give him the tips that are paid during the reservation process, so I felt obligated to provide him with an additional tip ($50.00).When attempting to confirm our return trip, I was given the driver's number to call ******** When I contacted him, he had no knowledge of our pick up & said he wasn't even in ************, but ****. He said he'd call his company & get back in touch with me. He then texted & said we were all set. An hour later, I received another call from the company & was told our ride was cancelled. I was confused, because ***** had just confirmed with me via text. Initially, the company said the cancellation was due to our driver feeling sick & getting tested for Covid, but then a few seconds later said it was due to the weather. Which was it? I find it highly suspicious that when contacted, the driver knew nothing about our return reservation, then quickly confirmed & then as quickly cancelled. It was snowing but road wasn't closed, & the events leading up to the cancellation coupled with our experience on our trip to ************ lead me to believe that the cancellation was due to poor planning, over-booking & dishonest company ********************** The cancelled return trip ended up creating a considerable inconvenience (missed work & rebooking of flights/ground transportation) and expense that could have been avoided. I am seeking reimbursement for the tip I gave to the driver because he claimed the company didn't give him the tip I provided during initial booking ($50.00), increased cost due to flight change with ($211.56) & expense of additional night in condominium ($529.79) for a total of $791.35.
