first of all this company should change its name to blue castle, due to the fact when its time to blue tape all the walk thru issues you ultimately wind up with a blue castle home. if you think about the entire process its really messed up. during the process of building a home, many professionals (licensed by the state -home inspectors) come through and make sure things are done properly and with safety in mind. but at the time of final walk-thru or blue tape inspection blue castle( new castle) wants you ( the buyer) to be the unlicensed final inspector with no experience to finalize and sign a ( arbitrary contact- look it up) .in my situation and many others they claim the inspection process never included the back yard . the last 40 foot of the yard seeded and covered with ***. trust me the hay is really to cover up the mess they leave you with. its a total post construction debris yard. rocks as big as 7 inches, 2x4 with nails. large pieces of plywood, shards of floor tile as well as whole pieces, plastic pain cans, inflated football. ******* etc. according to their construction operation manager "this is totally normal" before your lawn mower is destroyed you better hope you haven't put an eye out or break windows, or have a trip and fall. post construction debris should be hauled away. but new castle as always tries to save a **** then promise to fix things later later. i'm old school and try to prevent problems. when a construction company (new castle) puts profit before public safety' someone usually gets hurt, then law suits start flying and they end up on the bbb complaint list. read all bbb complaints on new castle and you'll see what i'm talking about . if you get a chance read new castles mission statement and compare those promises with actual customer complaints then you can decide before you make a mistake. facts don't lie! when it comes to injuries caused by poor work it's not a matter of "if it will happen but when it will happen!".

WORST EXPERIENCE If I could give 0 stars I would. This has been the worst experience of our lives. I have been pushed as far as I can go. I have been patient and have done everything the right way trying to resolve this but its enough. If you are looking to buy a NewCastle home please do your homework. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I believe, based on our 33 documented issues, including our garage flooding twice, having to dig up and re-pour our driveway, putting in the floor joists incorrectly, our breaker box buzzing, bricks having to be replaced, a subcontractor walking into our home (uninvited) setting off our alarm when no one was home and leading ** to believe they would finish ours (and others backyards), they do not carefully oversee any of their projects and most of the work (done by subcontractors) we have been told barely pass inspection (a whole other issue in itself according to 3rd parties). The realtors representing NewCastle in these new builds are making/made promises they cannot keep.NewCastle has not been transparent, they do not respond to emails appropriately/professionally nor do they agree to meet in person when requested. Im shocked as to how much land they have in the ****** area given our experience. The sad thing is, you dont know what you are about to deal with until you have already signed. If you are looking at a NewCastle home just be aware. We moved into this brand new build in April 2022 and it has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined.

*********************** terminated an agent with no proof of wrongdoing and as such as participated in elderly abuse, sexism, ageism, and wrongful termination. If he doesnt and cannot ethically and morally support his team because hes too much of weak little ******** to stand up for his team who is to say that his product is ethically and morally produced. Do not do business with NewCastle or anything with ****************** name attached to it.

This was a sales agent who occasionally sat in a model home in one of our communities with another agent. She was not an employee and was not fired. We were simply finishing the community and were down to three houses left to sell and only needed one agent. She was the poorest performing agent of the two, based on contracts written, so we let her know that we no longer needed her services.

Bad Business Do not use this builder! I had a contract in on a home at Sumpter Landing in Pell City. Two weeks before closing they fired their project manager. He came back and damaged 4 to 5 homes that were supposed to close. My home was one of them. The disgruntle former employee went and stopped up all sinks and tubs and turn the water on and flooded out the home. Newcastle did not protect the property nor were the doors being locked at the time. Thankfully that day they installed cameras so they were able to catch the criminal. this put the closing date over two months out of the original date. The home was flooded the ceiling was follow link carpet flooded throughout the home. The sheet rock damaged up to 4 feet and all the cabinets were destroyed throughout the home. Newcastle was not empathetic. Nor did they try to make up or assume financial responsibility for the losses suffered by those who were under contract. When speaking with the head of the company three weeks later they talked mostly about how they experienced loss also. Lack of empathy! They also admitted to not doing background check on the worker, Not installing cameras soon enough, and negligence on there part. They are a selfish company. I decided to cancel my contract because of the flooding and fear of mold. Also they wouldn’t even buy my rate down to where it was. It was totally not my fault that they hire a theif who had a bad background. Do not deal with them. There are many builders who are more honest and care about the buyers as well. There is much more to tell. They were negligent in protecting the home that I wanted for me and my girls. They ruined what was suppose to be our new home in May.

      NC Review

I really debated on how man stars to give because there is some good from New Castle but the longer we live here the more the bad outweighs the good.

Let's get the good first. We like the floorplan of our house. We like the lot location. We like the neighborhood. The onsite realtor for NC, Virgil L****, helped us out a lot and worked really well with our realtor during the process. The people at the design center were very helpful in picking out options for our new construction and took a lot of time with us during the process. She even went over our floorpans in detail to make sure we had cable outlets and power outlets where we wanted them.

That is where the good ends.

It has been 1 year since we moved in and here is what really happened after the fact.

Somewhere there was a drop in communication about some of our power outlets and cable outlets from the design center. It took a few phone calls and several back and forth discussions before we finally got them moved to the correct location. Then in our final walk through the guy was super nice and helped us mark the punch list very well, and he even picked out things we might have missed. However, only a fraction of the punch list items actually got finished. The day we signed and were to move in under the promise everything had been fixed we noticed a bunch of obvious things had not been painted, not been caulked etc. In fact one of our movers cut his hand on the wooden banister where it had not been sanded properly. All of the door handles on every door were loose and to the point of some of them almost falling off. So they come back out and fix some it and tell us to wait until the 1 year walk through (which never happened) and they would fix all the nail pops, cracks and paint etc.

Then after we get moved in our master bathroom fills with water and 3 times they send someone out to caulk the shower door and it still happens. Finally a guy that took more than 5 minutes looking at it noticed water running out side the house and after tearing a piece of drywall finds out that someone shot a nail through the water line and the water line was run on the wrong side of the studs.

The water leak gets fixed but it takes forever for someone to come out and replace the flooring, molding, sheetrock and other small items damaged by water.

This whole time we were told over and over how great the warranty dept is and how fast they respond and how great they fix things.

4 times we have been scheduled to have a 1 year touch up and 4 times the appointment has not happened and nobody called or emailed explaining why.

Multiple times we have had someone come look at an issue (one bathroom still gathers water under the floor) but they come out and glance at it and say there is no issue.

It has gotten to the point where minor things I have either had to fix myself or get someone else to do it because the New Castle warranty dept is so unreliable.

We were also told that during the construction process we would be given a chance to inspect the major milestones along the way when inspections happened yet we were never told when these happened and we were never a part of them.

Also when we would flush our upstairs toilet it would leak water into the garage. Turns out someone sheet rocked over where the clean out cover was supposed to go and nobody caught it on inspection. The plumber noticed it right away and was in shock that it made it through an inspection like that.

There are more and more things we are discovering where quality control is an after thought. At the price point of these houses you would expect at least a little more time and care be placed into the construction. It is almost like the workers did what they wanted and hurried through with no oversight.

Our landscaping was horrible as well. Most of our plants are almost dead because the roots were not even buried. The holes were not even close to deep enough, not to mention the amount of trash, shingles, bricks and rocks they barely covered over. Several people in our subdivision had to already replace trees and plants because of these issues.

Again this is simply over sight and could have easily been done correctly without much extra efforts.

My suggestion if you build with New Castle is show up often during your construction and try to catch stuff before it is finished because once it is done, good luck with getting anything finished under warranty.

Once most of the houses were sold they abandoned most of the upkeep of the neighborhood even though they still control the HOA. Our entrance is in horrible shape and most of the upkeep has been taken upon by residents just so it would get done.

If you decide to build with new castle you will probably at least get a safe house because they can only neglect so much with city inspections, but don't expect them to care about the details at all.

      To whom it may concern:

The ******'s had some valid concerns along the way and we could have performed better at times. Our records do not match The ******'s exactly but that is beside the point. We failed to correctly diagnose two warranty claims and that is our mistake. We are in the process of scheduling their one year warranty request and we hope that we have the chance to win back some of their confidence during this time.
