      Alabama Power is shady. Many people were complaining about their power bills this winter, in disbelief of the billed amount. I personally had my power bill rocket up 50% over my previous highest ever bill which are normally in the summer. When contacting Alabama Power the only explanation given was how there was a "cold snap" and bills were higher due to heating homes(even if you had a gas blah blah blah). The main problem with that explanation is, for nearly two decades I haven't had a working furnace at all and heat my home solely with wood I chop and split myself. It has gotten to the point where I continually dispute the bill with their customer service and they ignore it, refusing to speak with me any longer. I repeatedly get "service termination" threats because I refuse to pay an obviously fraudulent bill they refuse to explain how my heating without power somehow raised my power bill.

      Alabama Power Company is inflating bills. We have solar panels and I don't understand how my power bill went fro $200 plus dollars to $634.23. This was for one month of service. I'm not sure what's going on with the increase of the power bill. We've had the power company to come out to check out the meter. We've had the heating and cooling system checked out and there's no explanation for the increase.

      This Message is my concern about the increase of Power bills. For the past two months the Power bill at my house has been over ******. Before that it was a little over ****** a month. I have heard on local TV channels and Radio stations that this type of insane price increasing was happening to people all over the State of Alabama. When asked about this last month Alabama Power stated that the increased power bill was because of a couple of cold snaps. This I heard on a local news Radio station. This is a poor excuse from Alabama Power. We have cold snaps every winter. This cold snap was not anything different from previous cold snaps in the past years. Price increases went up just a little but not much. But all of a sudden in December 2023 and January **** the cold snaps we had caused this insane price increase. This is totally unacceptable. I request that Alabama Power be formally investigated for Price Gouging, Embezzlement and unethical business practices. Alabama Power is the only Electrical company in Alabama. They have no competitors. They can hike price rates up and pretty do want they want. Electricity is a necessity. This company needs to be held accountable. This price increase was intentional. Thank you.

      This message is to express my concerns in reference to my power bill. It really concerns me how Alabama Power has increased there rates to where my bill has almost doubled. I realize that we had a few very cold days this past month, but here in the South, we experience a few cold days every winter. Its really disturbing how Alabama Power has imposed these high rate increases at the customers expense. What is most disturbing is the number of people who will not be able to afford to pay these high bills. It would be considerate if Alabama Power would think of the thousands of customers that are affected by these high rate increases. Unfortunately, it appears that we, the customers are just numbers and the people who are in authority who make these changes/decisions care less about the customers. Its also unfortunate that as customers all we can do is complain! What is really going on. Signed: Concerned and frustrated customer

      Our power bill as been steadily getting higher. In Nov it raised by $100 and another $100 in Dec. I get my bill at the beginning of the month so the cold snap would not have affected these months yet. My monthly power bill should not be as much as my house payment.

      They keep add to my account every month now my lights get cut off because my bill keep coming out high an they want work with me I done told them I'm unable to work I'm disability they told me I had till 8:30 to pay my light to keep my account open I went paid the $200 soon the door open an they still closed my account add $555 to my bill again now I just paid a $10000 to get lights back on like how y'all trying to help the community when I can't get no help how will I ever get cought up if you keep add 555 on my account

      We are senior citizens on fixed income. Husband is bed bound. Has a feeding tube in stomach, dementia, on dialysis, legally blind in one eye, conjested heart failure, ivc filter in groin area, goes every where by Ambulance. For the last three months my bill went from 366 to 409 then 624. $227 of those amounts are for outdoor lights and central unit payment. The balance is electric service. So my last bill went up by ******. I immediately cut off my unit, unplugged all lamps, coffee pots, micro wave, hot water heater, Christmas lights,washing machine, deep freezer and lights turned on after 5pm. Started using *************************** one room. I started everyday monitoring my bill on line. The bill came down from ***** to **** for a couple days then it went back up. I called them to let them know that I wasn't using them because I shut them down. Then they started up and down on my bill. I figured ourt what they were doing. They would put an estimation of what your bill is projected to be so whether you use it or not, each day they will make it add up to the amount they projected. I have friends that are the opposite color of me that have two or three heaters running at all times, TV playing all night and Christmas lights and their bill is only 220. Their son had **** Christmas lights and heaters and their ******. They wanted to know did I pay my bill last month. I pay my bill every month. I requested a service person to come out and check meter and transformer. Letter came that it wasn't anything wrong. My neighbors up the road from me complaing that she is on budget planning and for last six months her bill been running between 600 and ******. Several people are complaining. A young man claims his bill is only *****. Why do we have to pay someone else bill? This should be discrimination case. The word says that you will reap what you are sowing. I hope you know that God is looking at you.

      Less than one star.. horrible please do not sale your land to Alabama power they're leasing office is a ***** ***** system that tramples community rights and standards.

      It is ridiculous on the price for electricity is there should be a set price of no more then 100 dollars. Or less power shouldn't be the same price of a car payment or house payment all they care about is getting rich
