Hi *****. I am very sorry that your experience wasn't one that you were satisfied with as we aim to provide outstanding service. Our techs are trained to provide a complete repair instead of fixing individual issues as they arise, which does mean the price may be higher than possibly expected. I truly hope you give our company another chance to ern your trust and business back.Review from Michael E

We were grossly overcharged & underserved. We are senior citizens whose central air system failed on August 13th.We called this company on ************* sent out a technician who proceeded to develop a quote for replacement of the system on his IPad device. He talked with his ********************************** said we would have to pay $287 for the service call unless we agreed to purchase the system & if so, they could install the very next day.The quote totaled $12,800.The exact system from ******* company can be purchased for less than $3,000 at HVAC DIRECT with free shipping..Temperature was 96 degrees so we fell for it.The next day their office called & said they had scheduling problems & would not be able to install until 2 days later. On Wednesday 3 people arrived 3 hours late & completed the install in 3 hours. The system ran for 25 hours & reduced the temperature by only 8 degrees.Over the next 12 days 8 different people came out replacing parts until finally sending the technical supervisor who discovered that ajumper on the main terminal strip should have been removed to alllow the central fan to run at proper speed. And he replaced the Exspansion valve for the second time.So we suffered fo 15 days in the heat.We have contacted these people repeatedly with NO response from anyone with authority.Hansen Super Techs Response

The owner of this business is very rude they installed a central air compressor in October it's not working 5 months later they said I must have did something wrong because I turned on the unit and they left a little sticky note that said don't turn it on until you contact us. which is not true. Their owner laughed at me and told me good luck in court because he doesn't have a valid address so it won't be easy to find him he Jim H***** won't honor warranty / contractReview from Cher B

Electric dept starting with the receptionist very rude, nasty, petty, unprofessional to start. Called in to schedule a tech to come out to look at a burnt plug. $** diagnostic fee for them to come out. I had no problem with that. But I paid the fee for the service tech to tell me that the diagnosis was I had a burnt plug. The exact thing I called and told them I had an issue with. My daughter informed me that the service guy was very rude kept asking her over and over who is going to pay for this ? As if it was a problem paying. Therefore I decided not to go with them or proceed in any further electric service, bc I felt like I was being hustled already. I called bk to ask to speak to a manager to explain my bad experience. She was no help came on the line very defensive with all that my dear ****. Im sure the horrible receptionist had already given her her dishonest version of events. I've used them before for my AC and they were fine. But the electric dept I would NOT recommend to anyone and clearly stay away from.Review from Geri H

Hansen has been servicing our A/C for several years and have been very satisfied...until this week. We had a fan the needed to be replaced for our A/C unit. The tech called and said it was covered by warranty. Great! Didn't know how long this would take to replace, an hour, 2 hours...who knows and was not informed. Well...the tech walked in the door, replaced the unit and was out the door in 30 minutes. The tech told me my cost was $295. I asked him why the high price and he told me "labor". Told him I struggled with this cost for 30 minutes of work! The tech was visibly uncomfortable with my question on the labor cost. He then stammered and started telling me it was because of the trip charge ( which is a standard $25 whether he's 30 minutes or 3 minutes away), then about a form he has to fill out and then how they get charged by the manufacturer. All of which matters not to me. So I paid the bill figuring what option do I have. I was home alone and didn't want to cause any issues. My husband went into the office and explained our concern and was told they will get back to him. He got no satisfaction so I called and talked to the receptionist. She told me it was not a labor charge but their standard "job" charge. So what it boils down to is this job takes 15-20 minutes and the are charging $540/hour for their labor. I told her we were asking for a compromise but management absolutely denied this request. They were not willing to compromise in any way shape or form. It's highway robbery! I've told several people about our experience and they were all shocked about the cost. Next step is contacting a TV station and see where it goes from there.Review from David N

I'm agreeing wholeheartedly with Bril's review. I opened my htg&ac unit to take 'before' pictures, then called Hansen to set up a routine maintenance@$40 on 12/31/2019. On 9/13/20, we had water pooling under unit, tech came out for an hour, diagnosed this as clogged drain, then unclogged it. $25 dispatch fee, $70 to service and I was less than impressed. On 11/13/2020, they came out for the $40 routine maintenance again showing me oil running down the outside of blower fan saying bearings would be going out. Told me it would cost around $400 and an electrical component at around $125 also. Total estimate was close to $600. Tech closed unit up and upon re-opening after he left I discovered the messy oil hadn't been cleaned away, also my 'before' pictures showed unit dry. I cleaned it then and today 7/24/21, it remains dry. Using big companies don't automatically mean good service, Bril may be onto something mentioning techs are paid through commissions. Tech also decided that since unit was 12 yrs old, service was necessary on blower fan. Next time will be a BBB Accredited Htg&AC company who may or may not have a big advertising presence.Review from Judy A

I have used Hansen Heating and Air since at least 2016 (maybe longer) and they came every six months to give maintenance, check freon, be sure everything is clean and working properly. In April 201 9 I paid over $1600 for attic insulation because my power bills were larger than ever - over $200 - $290 in summer and this winter over $300! I even had the insulation owner come back out to inspect and assure me I got what I paid for. He confirmed I did. This year when our temps dropped to -14 and maybe lower my heating unit never turned off and my thermostat was reading 55-57 degrees. I called Hansen. They came out and could find nothing wrong. Said it was just cold and that I had basically a heat pump. It was sold to me as a package unit. (The unit was 10 years old in November.) Everything checked out "normal." I again called Hansen as it was still not heating and another tech came out. This time I am told there IS a problem. He said it was the "thermal expansion valve" that needed to be replaced. I was given a quote of $900. I could not afford to keep running the unit on heat strips (it was costing me $36 a DAY to run the unit. It took two days for the part to come in. It was installed. Still the house never got very warm. Basically I had been advised that's just how old houses are. It was NOT how my house was in the first few years when it was installed. Only after years of not being serviced properly as it should have been. I called another local heating/air company out this week and he crawled under the house (m house is on piers) and he said nothing was wrong with the ductwork. He proceeded to take the cover off of the unit and took a picture showing me the filth that had built up over years of being neglected - yet I paid semi annually for maintenance and cleaning. He advised that I may need another whole unit due to neglect. This man said there was NO WAY a thermal expansion valve should have been installed without checking the COILS. He also said that with the dirty coils there is no way that the $400 in freon that was put in on the same day as the thermal expansion valve would even cool or heat. And I might add that on the invoice the freon is noted as NOT WARRANTED. On the cheaper side it may cost $2,000 for a complete coil cleaning, and even then it may not run efficiently as it should. The worst possible scenario it will cost at least $10,000 for a whole new unit. I posted on Hansen's Facebook page about the issues with a PICTURE of the filthy coil and it was promptly taken down. I posted several more times and again it was removed. On the NextDoor app I advised of my issues with Hansen. To my surprise I was inundated with similar events suffered by others. And others that have used without complaints are now worried. I messaged Hansen directly thru an ad for Hansen which appeared on NextDoor (3 times) and Hansen has made no effort to contact me to even see if he could save face and rectify the coil issue. I have been left no alternative but to take the route of contacting the BBB and now file a complaint. I was a loyal customer of Hansen and always gave them high remarks. I have now been advised by a former tech of Hansen's of the less than moral and ethical practices he employs.
