They came to open and service my AC this spring. Only competent thing they did was change the filter. Made some adjustments and supposed repairs to the tune of $1200+. We went out for the evening. When we got home, the main part of the house was 89 degrees, family room 93degrees. They came two days later. They said a part on the furnace was faulty. They shut down the heating part of the furnace and left on the part that heats the water.now I have to repair that heating element. A few weeks later, I realized there was some kind of motor or something running in the attic. They came back to inspect. I was told it was put in as a temporary fix because there is another part on the A.C that needs to be fixed. That was a month ago. Now there is a part on the furnace and the A. that need repairs still outstanding. Since then, I have called, texted and left messages at the office with Meghan, and Dave and Terrence to find out what the part are and what we can do to get these fixed. (Two parts. Furnace and Ac.). I worry about a motor going in my attic in this heat and causing a fire. I think it’s dangerous. . It doesn’t stop. Meghan doesn’t return calls either. I think she recognizes my number and clicks over to answering service so she doesn’t have to talk to me anymore. I have been trying for about a month now. LONG ENOUGH!!! In the future, I worry that if we didn’t have heat in the winter, we would freeze to death before we got service from them. I have never left a negative review before. But I make an exception here. I don’t even want to give them one star for a review. They deserve a zero.Review from Frank O

In an era where leadership often takes a backseat to profitability, encountering a business leader David who prioritizes integrity and empathy above all else is both refreshing and inspiring. David has not only set a benchmark for ethical leadership but has also fostered an environment where empathy is the cornerstone of every decision. From the outset, it's evident that David operates with a high degree of integrity. He is consistently transparent in his dealings, not just with clients but also with their team. This transparency builds trust, a rare commodity in today's business world. He makes it a point to ensure that their actions always align with their words, thereby setting a powerful example for their employees. His commitment to integrity has cascaded down through the organization, creating a culture of honesty and ethical behavior that is palpable to anyone who interacts with the business. Empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another, is where this business owner truly shines. Dave has an innate capacity to connect with people on a personal level, which is evident in how they interact with both employees and customers. His empathy is not just limited to understanding others' feelings but is actively demonstrated through actions. Whether it's going out of their way to accommodate a customer's unique needs or being genuinely concerned about their employees' work-life balance, their empathy is always in action. In conclusion, Dave’s approach to leadership through integrity and empathy is not just commendable but sets a standard for others to follow. In a world that often prioritizes the bottom line over people, their leadership style is a beacon of hope, demonstrating that success can be achieved without compromising on core human values. Dave’s leadership is a testament to the fact that when integrity and empathy are at the forefront of business, everyone, from employees to customers, benefits.Review from Steven M

Climate Care has a habit of taking customers' money and disappearing. I made a deposit, they promised to come back in two days max to replace a part. A month later, the job still wasn't done and I had to submit a dispute with my bank to get my money back. I disputed the charge and got my money back. Nine months later I received a bogus bill from Climate Care for almost $1000 for work they never performed. Moreover, I sold the place several months ago. I filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of Connecticut for fraudulent charges.Climate Care, LLC Response

****** our apologies, as the invoice was sent in error. The initial deposit amount for the work was indeed refunded to you. No balance is due and the invoice has been cancelled out.Review from Matthew M

We hired Climate Care to install a new HVAC system to a apartment attached to our house. The installation was done improperly and the system was inoperable. We were not able to get David to come back to the house but he verbally agreed to pay the 3rd party we had fix the leak in the coolant line and faulty TxV valve. David never returned any calls or made a payment and the amount was over $1,000.Review from DeeS

Climate Care was dishonest from the start. The company shared an inaccurate estimate and then went $10,000 over that cost after installing the AC units. After this, we found that the product the company ordered was defective. We tried to get in touch with Dave, the owner, who then was very hard to reach. He did not ever respond in a timely manner, making us wait weeks to hear back and then sending subcontractors who never found any sound conclusions on what was wrong. We are now $30,000 into the problem without a working AC system in my daughter’s room. This is a deceptive company with bad customer service and unreliable. They should be investigated for deceptive practices.Review from Teri A

Hired with an $8000.00 deposit on Nov 8, 2021. I was promised heat on one floor of two contracted before holidays. Complete two floors after the New Year. And AC would be done at the same time so an early heat wave would be no problem. It’s June 9th and all I have is heat on one floor, not two and still incomplete and NO AC. I have called, begged, joked, gotten stern. Now is BBB, then an attorney suing for full refund and damages as I am soon to have to stay in a hotel. HELP!!Review from CJ

Summary: Summary: This company should think about rebranding themselves as "care" is something they certainly don't provide. Agony, CAREless, last or missed service calls, impossible to get a hold of, lazy/careless technicians, etc, etc as the list of issues goes on. I gave Dave Soderstrom (owner) opportunity after opportunity but felt compelled at this point to raise awareness to others who might be considering employing Climate Care so they have full transparency into the experience they should expect to receive. Sometimes you "get what you pay for" and feel that phrase definitely holds true here. Full details below: I employed Climate Care in the summer in 2021 when one of my HVAC system's died on me at the recommendation of a friend. Dave was super professional, punctual to our initial meeting, well priced, made suggestions for items to update on my equipment which he said he would do (and didn't) and had immediate availability to install equipment when competitors were 4+ weeks out (this should have been the first immediate red flag). Given both my HVAC systems were 14+ years old, it was decided to replace both the dead system and proactively replace the other aging system as well. Thus two condensers and two air handler systems were required. Fast forward to the night before installation Dave calls me to tell me that he is having trouble locating one of the condensers and we can a) hold on that install until he gets the right equipment or b) go ahead with the install but he will supply a slightly bigger condenser. I elected on the latter given I am not an HVAC expert I heeded on the guidance of Dave to tell me what to do. Months later (Jan 2022) I am told by my current HVAC servicing company when they were over to perform annual maintenance that the larger condenser paired by my air handler is not appropriate and could lead to freezing or other performance issues in the future. The dead HVAC system was removed and a new one was installed without issue; however, Dave's crew left for the day and never insulated/wrapped the pipes on the exterior of the home along with some other odds/ends. Multiple voicemails and text messages to Dave went unanswered so I called my credit card company and submitted a dispute as the work was 90% complete. Only weeks later was the work completed to which I dropped the dispute. A few weeks later Dave's crew returned to replace the aging HVAC system in my attic. After a full day which consisted of his guys coming for two hours in the morning, then taking a two hour lunch break followed by hanging out in the truck most of the afternoon, this system was replaced. At 6pm on that hot summer evening Dave broke the news to me..."The good news is the HVAC system is installed, the bad news is it doesn't work". After finger pointing and blame game nonsense (blaming a faulty part in a brand new unit) he came back late the following day to fix. A few days later I was in the attic cleaning out some boxes when I noticed the newly installed HVAC system was leaking at a connection point. Multiple voicemails and text messages to Dave went unanswered. Finally one of his technicians showed up a week later who said he needed to get some parts and would be right back. Two weeks later again I am texting/calling Dave to get resolution to this. At this point I called my credit card company and initiated a dispute (different credit card company than previous dispute). A few more weeks go by and Dave returns to fix the issue. Hours later the carbon monoxide alarm is blaring in my home requiring my entire family to vacate. Fire department arrived on scene to confirm there were legitimate carbon monoxide levels in my home, requiring them to bring in industrial sized fans and blow out the air in my entire home. Dave denied any wrongdoing here which is absurd considering Climate Care was utilizing blow torches in my attic to fix the issue. At this point several weeks go by and everything is operational without issue until I notice a pool of water building in the condensation pan in my basement HVAC system (part of the initial pricing of this project was to replace the condensation pan and sensors which was never done). Multiple texts/calls go out to Dave which surprisingly are answered saying someone will be there today. Today was three days later to which Dave again blamed the air handler manufacturer and installed some sort of bracket on the front of my system to allow it to properly drain. Also a small hole in the bottom of the duct work which was the exit point of the water was supposed to be replaced during the initial replacement of this air handler and was never done. His technicians just taped up the hole. Heading into late fall tof 2021 the heat was fired up for the first time all season. While Dave did not perform any work on my boiler, the air handler in my attic was only pumping out cold air. Same cadence proceeds with multiple calls/texts to Dave who arrives several days later and shockingly blames the air handler manufacturer on bad wiring. He did some rewiring and the system was operational. Fingers crossed but 6 months later my equipment seems to be operational but dreading the day when I come across an issue. If/when that happens, Dave will certainly be hearing from me for compensation. At the suggestion of my other HVAC company, they suggested I register all the equipment with the manufacturer to ensure proper warranty. Dave told me he would do this on my behalf which was never done. Please save your time, money and aggravation and hire a true professional that will not deceive you!
