Dropped my car off on 8/24/22 and picked it up 9/2/22 for some minor damage that occurred after I struck a deer at 20mph. Car needed a fender, headlight, front bumper, and a windshield. They did the job and called me at 3:45pm to pick the car up before 5pm. I couldn't get there right away but ended up getting there for around 4:40pm. Didn’t realize it at the time as it was almost time for them to close but I didn’t get a walk around or any explanation as to what they did or problems they came across, if any. The rep in the front never left his desk, just gave me a total to pay and handed me my keys. Car looked great from the outside, jumped in and started driving home. I get to the street I live on and realize a good size tear/crack on the passenger side of my dashboard. I call the shop immediately and ask about the crack and he tells me with no hesitation “it was there”. I can assure you it was not there I have pictures of my car with the damage (from the deer strike) prior to giving it to them. A picture I took to show the damage to the windshield also shows the area where the crack is now and does not show any evidence of a crack in the dashboard at that time. So luckily I have proof that it wasn’t like that prior to them having the car. I showed them the picture and it still wasn’t enough and was “laughed out of the building”. I can only assume this occurred when they had the glass out of the car and someone put some type of body weight or the new windshield on top of my dash, right where the passenger side airbag is and tore it. In hindsight I see why they didn’t do a walk around with me and why they called me so close to closing time. They knew exactly how they had to play it and I may be a bit naive to how that process works it being my first time dealing with a bodyshop.At this point I want them to pay for the dashboard the labor to get it installed by someone other than them and the time and energy they’ve made me waste on this. Never seen such negligence
