The service department at McDaniel's Acura off Killian road have a history of very unsavory business practices since moving to the Killian Rd location in North East Columbia. They have sold and installed aftermarket parts on my vehicle while misrepresenting them as certified Acura oem parts but charging the higher premium. Today I went to an oil change appointment and presented a service coupon sent directly from McDaniel's Acura stating that, "WE ACCEPT ANY SERVICE COUPONS YOU RECEIVE FROM ANYONE!" I brought a price match coupon that I had also received in the mail from a competitor. At the time of the service write up by the service advisor Mike, I handed him my coupons and he agreed to adjust the amount owned to reflect the coupon price match after the service was completed. When I returned to pickup my vehicle Mike had gone to lunch so I dealt with his boss, Bryan Elledge, who was the Head Service Manger. When I alerted him to the coupon that Mike had approved and accepted BEFORE any services was rendered. He said he couldn't accept their own coupon. I told him that they should have disclosed that before agreeing to service my vehicle. He repeated over and over that HE didn't have to accept my coupon even though the service advisor, Mike had approved the coupon before the start of the service. Basically holding my vehicle hostage until I payed the unfair ransom. These types of business practices are crooked & shady. I will never buy another vehicle from McDaniel's considering other similar complaints from other people. I wouldn't let these unscrupulous people at this establishment squeegee my windshield if it needed to be cleaned. This type of corruption usual starts from the top and this apple seems to be rotten to the core.Review from Nicole F

The service department messed up my 2022 Volkswagen by failing to replace oil filter seal twice when doing routine maintenance. That has caused more issues of replacement of timing cover, pcv valve, and valve cover. My Atlas has been in shop since 8/2/23, awaiting parts that's on back order. McDaniels refuse to reimburse me for a rental, provide assistance with a rental, and don't offer loaners. I have explained on multiple occasions the Atlas is my only means of transportation and their assistance would be appreciated. Only to keep receiving a response of they don't participate in VW loaner/rental assistance program. Ok I understand that, try to understand my vehicle is in the shop due to the service department negligence, so out the company business account, assistance and reimbursement should be provided.Review from Donna J

I went to McDaniels Volkswagen to get air in my tires after my sensor light came on that my air pressure was low in tires. I purchased my first ever Volkswagen in 2018 with a preowned manufacturers' 6 year warranty. I was astonished when I asked for someone to just put air in my tires and was told that it would be $14.95 as an instant response to my request. I will need to replace all my tires before next year.... all I can say to this place of "no care business"...is kiss my ***........not getting that purchase from me either. Just to be clear, you will only see me when expectations are not met of this vehicle as per warranty issues. So very disappointed in this company!! My car lights ( charging system and awd needed attention. The battery died and I had to have my car towed to dealership. The service tech called and stated that I needed a alternator and the cost would be $1000.00. I said man Ican buy new alternators for $89-$189.00. They also told me I needed four new tires and an alignment. I said I just had the car to Acru of Savannah and they replace two tires and did an alignment. Need to say I am dissappintedReview from Lakia E

I dropped off my car to Acura for B124 service and they found other items that needed to be services. The following were the issues I had with my experience. 1. Not being able to get a loaner vehicle and not being informed until the next day that I would not be able to get one. Making it difficult for me to schedule a ride to and from work for the next 3 days especially since I am at work at 5:30am. 2. Poor communication on how much my services were going to be in total prior to me arriving to pick up my vehicle (I found out total charge when picking up my vehicle). 3.Issues with scheduling where to pick me up and when to drop me off and the times. 4. The expectation to pay a ridiculously high cost (which is more that I make in a month) upfront, the receptionist and the manager agreed with me. 4. Her lack of training to help customers effectively. (No fault of the receptionist) 5. Not getting adequate discount for my bill. 6. The fact that I was told by the receptionist and supported by the manager that the receptionist would have had to pay for the remainder of my balance if I did not show up that day by the close of business. (She stated she was going to quit if I did not show up). 7. The fact that I was told they were going to send the police to my house to collect the remainder balance if I did not show up that day by the close of business day. 8. All the repeated phone calls and texts to see if when I am coming to pay the remainder of my bill on the day I stated I was coming to pay it while I'm at work. 9. The inorganization of this entire process from start to end. 10. I never received a survey to fill out about my experience. (I don't need one now) As customer of 19 years, I have never seen anything like this. I am very disappointed. I am Angry about how this entire situation was handled. I am seriously contemplating remaining a customer of McDaniel Acura on Killian Road in SC.Review from Jeremy P

The finance department screwed up my state taxes and undercharged me by $500.00. They caught THEIR mistake 2 weeks later and called requesting payment or else they wouldn't file the vehicle registration. If it were my dealership, I'd eat the loss, but they wouldn't budge. I asked if they'd at least credit me an oil change (which might cost them $50.00) for the trouble and the stress, but they denied that too. Stay away from this place. They're willing to lose a customer over $50.00.
