Complete incompetence in dealing with this business. FOUR (4) days prior to closing on a home they discovered they had not followed FHA loan guidelines. The loan will not be granted causing the seller of the home (ME) to cancel the purchase of another home, causing the owner of that home to cancel a purchase of another home, and who knows how many more homeowners will be affected! STAY AWAY FROM UNION HOME MORTGAGE IN ******* **.!! They have no idea what they are doing! This INCREDABLE BLUNDER on their part has cost me considerable monetary loss, which I will have no recourse other than to take into a court of law, which will cost me even more! Again, I repeat.... We refinanced and UHM had the best rates. We were able to get the loan and make the payments however now on 2 out of 3 years they have NOT paid our taxes out of our escrow without me calling and making a fuss. Because of this they will only pay our taxes once per year and keep raising our escrow because of "shortages" which wouldn't be as significant if they paid the taxes correctly. They won't let you out of escrow without paying them a percentage of your loan even though they can't do their part.Union Home Mortgage Corp. Response

Absolute terrible customer service. I had a problem paying on my account in December because they changed the website, finally after calling 9 times and waiting for a representative for nearly 30 + minutes several of those calls Kathy answered the call, I was on with her, the call lasted 34 minutes and still did not get the Website to let me register.. At the end of the call we finally got the payment made but I was very nervous about the amount coming out of the account after she imputed a little over $2000.00 then 1000.00 then the final and actual payment which did come out correct after all was said and done.. Now in January still can't register and left another message with no calls returned.. Impossible to get in touch with an actual person when you call?? I looked at the BBB reviews and it looks like they copy and paste the same response for every complaint instead of handling the issue with there when somebody calls but I'm sure the sales end of is company answers on the first ring, if only the new customers knew what they were getting into. I have been trying to contact The Union to pay for my mortgage. I will be the one that gets penalized if I try to go else where and then Will get penalized if I cannot pay my mortgage. They have been the absolute worst customer service . I have tried to contact them : Jan 2nd - 10:19am Jan 2nd - 1:48pm Jan 4th -10:17am Jan 4th - 10:49am left voicemail Jan 4th - 3:51pm left voicemail Emailed on the website Jan 4th Jan 5th - 12:18 pm left voicemail The press one option doesn’t work for someone to call you back .Review from Leslie B

Had some financial issues but never late with mortgage. Due to that my access to the portal was removed. I now have NO access to my own mortgage! I cannot pay online! I have to call. I cannot get anyone on the phone. I have been trying for 2 weeks. 2WEEKS! How smart is that to remove my access so I can’t pay my mortgage. I asked for paper statements I have yet to have those. How about using some of the money spent on that football stadium to hire capable people.Review from Sam M

Union has given potentially the worst overall customer service that I have experienced from any company in any vertical. The only live person we have chatted with when trying to reach out has been through chat and he informed us that he could not help us through chat then referred us to call and email, which have both been done. It seems like we are not being taken care of, and we will be the ones penalized by taking our business elsewhere due to us locking in a good interest rate. Would not recommend, and pretty sure they just buy loans because no one wants to work with them. I would love to chat with anyone in this company about my feedback, maybe I’ll get a call back in 2024.Review from GEOROGE H B

Complaint with Product and Service: ****** * ***** ** ********** **** ******** transferred my mortgage to Union Home Mortgage Corp. March of this year ( 2023 ). I pay this mortgage the same time as I pay three other mortgages to different mortgage companies and this outfit is the only one having a major issue crediting my payments on time. I pay though the bank with as much as a week leeway and they still can not credit my payment on time with out trying to charge me a late fee. I tried to pay via their customer care number, but I can not get a response from them because of unusually high volume of customers which when you try contacting them is ALL THE TIME. I have been on their company web page and see no way of making a payment to them. All phone numbers default to a system that hangs up on you do to unusually high volume of calls, and no they do not call you back if you leave a message and a phone number . Management of my loan payment is horrific, trying to use their systems to resolve payment problems is horrific. Extremely poor service managing my home mortgage.Review from Carolina R

It has been a complete nightmare. I can say do not trust UHM. I have been lied to many times by the loan officer RC and then by team lead Audrey Z*******. RC said I would get a 1 time close on my construction loan he reassured me hundreds of times that once approved I didn’t have to worry about providing taxes or proof of income again. Construction delayed I get worried and call RC to let him know the situation. He said it was not a problem at all its a 1 time close we won’t ask for documents again. But I did have to pay 2K every month for the rate lock extension plus interest on the loan. I was very stressed but that’s what I did. When construction is done, they ask me for ALL the documents again. I am worried I call RC he says not to worry he doesn’t understand why they are asking me for all this if is not necessary A week goes by I get another email. Again, I call RC don’t worry it has been approved you just need to sign and we are good. A few days go by SURPRISE there is no approval. I already sold my house and have moved into my new house and I don’t have a mortgage. meanwhile I cont. to pay for extension and interest every month. Audrey calls, says Corporate is working on my file and they will have answers for me by the end of the week or early nextweek. I tell her I am going on the third month and I am stressed paying every month she tells me don't worry you don’t have to pay for the extension and your rate will remain lock. I send her an email can you please confirm conversation. No response. I send another email again no response. I send email to everyone and explain what Audrey said. No one responses. Mid-week Audrey never called me only sent an email saying she can make NO commitments. Again on the phone one thing and by email another thing. I can tell you doing business with UHM is the worst mistake I could have done. Ever since that day I have been worried! Everyday I wake up worried I go to sleep worried. Waiting to hear from UHM.
