Unresponsive, price gouging, and unprofessional. Those are the three words I would use to describe our experience working with Mr. Electric of Independence. We had work completed in August 2021 that ended up being quite a large job as we upgraded our main electric panel from 100A to 125A, ran power outlets to the exterior of our house and additional outlets to the garage and basement, in addition to the need for an updated grounding per our home inspection. The technicians were great to work with and that is the only good thing I can say about this company. We discovered they charged up $300 for a $50 permit, which the company did not pull at the time of work. We called to contest the price gouging for the permit, was told the company would refund this cost, which they never did. We also had to bug the company repeatedly to pull the permit so the work could be inspected. Finally, after 5 phone calls over 4 months, the permit was pulled and the work inspected. The work did not pass inspection. We are now 2 months past inspection and the open items have not been addressed and we are still out of pocket $300 for a $50 permit cost. We called over 2 weeks ago to elevate our case to a manager, was told they would call back within a day. Called again yesterday and was hold they would call this morning. No calls. I'm done with this company. All I want them to do is to complete the items our city inspector said should have been done and to refund us the excessive cost of the permit. We dropped over $9,000 on this job and the customer service and responsiveness is the worst I've ever experienced with a contractor.
