I had a dedicated GFI outlet installed by Clover in a bathroom. I have had this work done in two previous homes and the cost by other electricians was $320 and $355. Clover charged $952. I called the supervisor and was told no breakdown of labor and materials would be provided but once that is all factored in they double the number to get their price. You should shop around before using Clover. They are probably the highest priced option.Review from Nancy W

I needed an electrician to install my Tesla wall charger and made the mistake of calling Clover Electric because they were local. They charged me $79 for an estimate, which if it was a legitimate estimate I'd have no issue with paying them. However, given that any research will tell you that wall charger installation is between $500-$2000 with the high-end for adding a subpanel or new breaker panel. My installation didn't need either of those. Their "estimate" was for $3457. This is for about a 3 hour job, with very little materials needed other than wire, which is at most $10 a linear ft installed, a couple of breakers and a metal conduit. They made no attempt to justify the cost or give a breakdown of materials and labor. To top it off, the person who came to my house had the audacity to say when I challenged the cost they were only going to make 5% on the job immediately lost what little credibility he had left. I told him I got a quote from another company (********* ******), who I ultimately went with, for the same job items for an acceptable price of $1,095, less than 1/3 of Clover's price. One big difference between the two quotes was Clover was going to cut through my ceiling drywall in my finished basement to route the wire to the breaker box, basically the lazy way. ********* took the time and effort to pop out my canister lights and route the wire without damaging my drywall. The icing on the cake was Clover trying to talk me into paying an insane amount of $12,000 to replace my breaker box, which doesn't need replacing. I feel bad for the poor people who took these con men on their word and ridiculously overpaid for their services. They talk about a "5-star" experience, I choked at having to just give them just one star. I recommend you avoid Clover at all costs.Review from Bruce S

We're in the process of replacing our kitchen appliances and needed a 40 amp line run to power our new induction cooktop. As second owners of our house built 24 yrs ago and wired by Clover's Founder, they were naturally my first call. I've been totally impressed with Clover Electric from the time I placed the initial call to schedule the appointment through the signing of the agreement to do the work. The admin team who made the appointment and handled the follow up confirmation are excellent and, Dean, our electrician is an absolute pro! He's knowledgable, thorough and personable. After completing the whole house safety inspection, Dean clearly explained his observations as well as his recommendations for future work. Having owned 13 houses over the years and having experience with multiple contractors, I'd put Clover Electric amongst the very best with whom we've worked. My sense is that, although competitive, they're likely at the higher end of the range in terms of cost. That said, given the quality of the work done when this house was built and the professionalism of the entire group with whom I've personally interacted, the value's definitely there. BEWARE of this company’s pricing. We have used Clover Electric for a number of service and have been satisfied. But yesterday we were ripped off. We needed to have three smoke detectors installed and some light bulbs changed. We were VIP members of this company so we called them. When the technician arrived he said that he would start with a 15 point safety check and come up with proposals on our work. After about 45 minutes he gave us three proposals, we chose the one to install three smoke sectors. The price seemed high but I OKed it. He had to leave to get the detectors which took and half to three quarters of an hour. He installed the detectors in about 20 or 30 minutes. I asked for a breakdown of the bill and he said it is only presented as a proposal. We paid the $867.00 for the job, yes $867.00. As I thought I was more concerned about the cost so I called the office. I got a hold of a supervisor and he said that he could understand my concern but offered no reduction. He first said that there was $150.00 cost for the detectors - there were cheaper models but we were not made aware of it. He then explained that Clover prices to get $175.00 per hour from their trucks. And the time starts when the technician loads the truck at the office. And ends when he drives away. So we were charged $175.00 per hour for him to drive to our house, $175.00 per hour for the 15 point safety check (that was never explained), $175.00 per hour for him to figure the proposals and present them, $175.00 per hour for him to drive to get the detectors and then $175.00 per hour for the installation. The supervisor said I was really getting a break because if you add up the time I should be paying around $1,000.00 for installing three smoke detectors. As I stated I tried getting relief from the company, none was given. So take my advice BEWARE.
