I had a deck built by Kingdom Exterior, I would never do business again with Kelly L***, contracts don't mean anything! His word means nothing as well. He just sub contracts the job out. Save yourself the frustration and money. Funny enough there were red flags but due to Deck builder booking out 6 months I was desperate and went this him because he estimated a couple month. After initial delays, kelly did not send in deck plans until 1 week before the new start date, the plans were rejected because he used the online mockup I provided instead of getting it professionally done like he said he would. I paid a pro to get me the plans (Extra $500 out of pocket) after the plans eventually got approved, 3 days before he was to start he told me the price of my trex went up by $1400, and my options were to lower the trex quality or pay the $1400. Note at this point we are months past the initial timeline (funny how the reason I went with him was he would do it faster than other but that was just smoke and mirrors to get deposit) I have never had a company that you sign a contract with, pay a deposit just raise your price a few days before the job starts!?? I guess it was genius because now if I decided to go with another company it would be another 6 months wait and it would have been hell getting deposit back! To top it off he did not want to install a deck step landings since it was not specifically called out in the contract even if it was in both the mock up and the official design (so I had to pay extra for that as well!) Bottom line stay away! If most deck builders have a 6 month wait and someone has a 2 month wait there is probably a reason why!! The reason is you still wait 6 months anyway, the price is jacked up right before you start and items supposed to be included by default are not included so you get charged extra again... Oh did I mention he had his team stop the work and say he was going to put a lean on my house!? You have been warned so you have yourself to blame!
