We ordered three new entry doors, three new storm doors and a half moon transom window in November 2022. Paid over $21,000 and have yet to receive any product. They were supposed to be installed in June 2023, but they called the morning of and said all three were damaged. They said they'd order new ones and we'd have a new date in 4-6 weeks. It's been over four months since then and we still have nothing to show for it. We're now entering another winter with our old poorly insulated doors. Don't ever let Pella into your home.Review from Andrew H

Pella has come out to install my 4 hidden screen windows 7 times and 2 of them are still defective. **************** has been terrible, tons of unreturned emails and phone calls over the last year. Their internal ticketing system is such that no one we talk can ever see any information on our installation. We have experienced a lot of frustration being bounced around from sales, to installation, to service, all of them determined to pass the buck. No one we speak to has the authority to do anything except reorder parts and schedule more installers who also can not successful install our windows. At this point I don't think there is a solution, and Operations Director ******************* made it clear that we had ************** outside of legal recourse. Do yourself a favor and avoid Pella Chicago at all costs. They are worst construction contractor I have ever dealt with. Installers have tried their best, been courteous and professional. Manufacturing quality has been awful and management couldn't be worse.Review from Ryan C

Received a quote from Pella for 4 windows and a side entry door. The windows were fine. The biggest issue was the door. They installed the wrong door!! They were supposed to install a glass door with no handle because we wanted an electronic lock which they didnt offer. Order was placed, a follow up call was placed to us asking why we didnt choose a door handle. Thats because we are buying our own with a key paid. They said OK not an issue. Come day of installation they install a door that is not compatible with a key paid. They say they cannot replace the door once it has been installed. The best they can offer is a new door at cost from Provia not even from Pella, which is more than we paid for the original door. So they sold me a Pella door knowing they will have a better markup over their use of a Provia door. There was failure on the salesperson side and management. I am still trying to resolve and get answers, but they have ghosted me. Pella admits to the call and acknowledges a mistake has happened but wont resolve any think. Do not use!!Review from Bob S

Pella sub contractor installed a patio door and it was crooked. Township inspector would not approve installation. Pella has still not responded to our calls to correct the issue.Review from Sarah R

I have had a MISERABLE experience with this Pella location. Like all of the other reviews on this site, I wish I had read all of these reviews before moving forward with this incompetent organization. It is WRONG the way this organization treats its patrons. My windows got installed in Dec 2022, and I had ice on the INSIDE of my windows three days later. Additionally, the wrong trim was ordered. The trim is not flush with the wall, and the patio door screws are not flush with the door frame. It's April 2023, and I'm still waiting for a resolution to this miserable experience. I'm beyond angry that I didn't take the time to look into this further before selecting Pella as the vendor of choice. Do yourselves a favor, everyone. Please don't purchase Pella products from this location. I'd consider another reputable vendor, such as ********. I'll never use Pella againReview from Sara M

I strongly advise against using Pella *********************************************** of Chicago (office based in Rockford). We had a terrible experience with this team who seemed both incompetent and completely indifferent to the quality of their work. After 8-months, 5 installation attempts, and 3 different sub-contractors, we ultimately hired a local ********* to come finish the work that we'd already paid Pella to do. On our installation day in May, 2022, the sub contractors installed the doors and windows but didn't have the woodwork needed to trim everything out, leaving exposed framing and drywall. This resulted in 4 failed follow-up appointments. The first 2 attempts failed because Pella sent sub contractors to our home without the needed materials. We have no idea how or why this occurred and were never provided an explanation. The 3rd attempt failed because while Pella scheduled the appointment with us, they didn't actually book the sub contractor; so that day was a no-show due to their ineptitude. The last scheduled recovery appointment in Dec, 2022 was also a no-show. Once the sub contractor was 3-hours late we finally called Pella. It was only then they told us that the sub contractor had called in sick. Apparently nobody from Pella thought to contact that sub contractor's appointments for the day. Pella said they would call us back the next morning to schedule what would be our 6th (and hopefully last) installation appointment. It's now Feb, 2023 and nobody has ever contacted us. Our project should still show as incomplete with an open recovery ticket in their system, and yet, not a single follow-up. We literally gave up after this and hired someone else to do the finishing work.Similar to other reviews (that I wish I would have read before hiring Pella), we do like the actual products, but the customer service, scheduling, and (total lack of) project management was horrendous. We'll never use Pella again.Review from Darlene R

Watch out. Had my windows put in and your broke a piece of my siding and they won't replace. They claim it was like that. The installer that put windows in wanted me to reside my house and his friend and him can do it on the side. I guess this friend had a siding business. Seemed like he wanted to make some extra side money. Now I had to pay for the rest of my windows after they completed the job. You pay half at first then the other half when completed. They called and I gave them my charge card information. Come to find out they processed it twice. So now I have to try to get my money back. This is a high problem cause I need to get my sons medical supplies and treatment. I need to use my charge card for these expenses. I can't use my card. So I guess my son will have no medical treatment till this gets resolved.Review from Erin C

Horrible experience. This was our 4th phase of windows from Pella, each time has gotten progressively worse. This most recent time.... we ordered 1 large custom window in June and PREPAID $4500 (so expensive). We got only 1 communication about delays via email stating we would get installation in September. Well September can and went, no calls/email. I had to call several times and just kept getting told the "scheduling department" would call me. I even called our salespersons who did NOTHING except give me the "scheduling departments" number. Then finally I get a call to install.6 months after I prepaid the order! They come to install, and the window isnt correct. Locks dont work and you can see it is off center. The installers told me about the issue and said they notified their boss, and they were leaving the trim on the outside and inside off because the repair team would need to take the trim off anyways. Here we are a week after install. just got a call from the repair department. They want me to take picture and submit them. Why didnt Pella take pictures of the faulty window before they left my house! I am so upset my window looks terrible untrimmed, locks arent functioning, not to mention I am worried out the weather and moister getting in an unsealed window. I am DONE with Pella! No more! The name of PELLA is no longer the best in the industry. So now I sit and wait again, unfinished, un-functioning window right before the Holidays.Review from Chris B

In October 2021, we had Pella replace half our home's windows - a $75,000 job. The sales rep was great and the install team were efficient and clean. Since then, the level of post-install customer support has been non-existent. During the install, the team noted a large piece of exterior trim was missing for a family room fixed arch window. The team prepared a discrepancy report noting this part was missing (and still is as of 12.9.2021). Despite two letters to Pella Rockford, which included a picture of the missing part and 10 phone calls to their office, we have yet to receive a SINGLE response from Rockford as to the status of this missing part's installation. Interestingly, Pella corporate in Iowa responded to the second letter (they were copied) and tried to get the ball rolling, but it turned out to be the wrong office. So now we are back to square one and I cannot reach a live human being in Rockford (all my calls go to voice mail or are simply disconnected). I am extremely disappointed with Pella's post-install support especially when I still have the other half of my windows to replace. One would think Pella would be eager to assist to maintain good customer relations for future work. Apparently they don't care.Review from Matthew B

We did a complete basement remodel over the summer, and decided to use Pella for the exterior door, because they did a good job on another exterior door for us several years ago. We signed the contract in early May 2021. It was around $6k for the single door, which we were fine with, because the saleman told us it would be installed in 4-6 weeks. That made it perfect for our timeline. We decided to finance it in order to get a better price. The financing was interest deferred for 12 months. The timer on the deferral began when we signed the contract. Six weeks came and went. Then ten weeks. Finally, in August, some two months late, I got an automated text message that the door had been delayed. A month later, we got another text message that it had been delayed. By that point, the rest of the project was done, and I was getting bills for the financed door install. It took multiple calls to finally contact a human at Pella, and all they did was reset the timer for the delayed interest financing. But that's not what I wanted. I wanted to know when the door was going to be installed. It's early December now, and I haven't heard a thing about this door being installed, and I can't reach any human at Pella to talk to them about it, but I'm still getting monthly bills for this door that has yet to be installed.Pella Replacement Windows & Doors of Chicago Response

*******, I apologize on behalf of Pella as this is frustrating to interact with a non-human communication. The supply chain for materials has been nothing but unideal. We are working on solutions to better serve our customers and appreciate all feedback: good or bad. Thank-you for being a valued customer of ********************** and look forward to working with you in the future.
