I was a student at Chamberlain in their PMHNP program. Im December I took the Advanced Physical Assessment Course. I finished the lab (immersion) portion in February 2023, late due to a death in my family. I also took a break from the program and have decided to resume my studies to finish the program. Upon applying for readmission I was informed because 12 months had passed since my last course I would have to take a proficiency exam that would cover 3 courses I previous took before stopping my studies. The 3 courses were pathophysiology, physical assessment and pharmacology. My issue is I was enrolled in Chamberlain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program and took psychiatric pharmacology. Chamberlain had me take a generalized proficiency exam that only included general pharmacology. I took psychiatric pharmacology. When I did speak with my advisor she informed me they give all reentering students the same general exam, even PMHNP students who did not take general pharmacology. If a score of 70% isnt received on this exam, I would have to retake the entire Physical Assessments course and go to ******* again for the immersion. I did not pass the exam by 1 question. So because of 1 question I have to do the entire course and trip AGAIN. My problem is I am certain I missed general pharmacology questions on that test. Chamberlain never gave me a general pharmacology course because it was not part of my psych program. I understand them having just a general exam but its unfair for us Psych students who did not take general pharmacology. There was not 1 psych pharmacology question on the exam and that is what I studied for, because that was the pharm I took.
