I hired Lally **** to do the tuckpointing on a side of my building and reseal the tiles on top of my parapet wall. In fairness, the actual tuck pointing was done well. The sealing of the parapet wall tiles was shoddy craftsmanship with shoddy material that deteriorated quickly. Three years later, the brand new mortar joints started to pop out at the top of the wall because water got into the parapet wall tiles that were supposed to be sealed. The water shifted the parapet wall causing the mortar joints to pop out and water started damaging the interior, all because Lally **** didnt seal the parapet wall tiles. All of this would have been avoided if Lally **** had properly sealed the parapet wall tiles as I contracted them to do. When I called **** out and he realized that I was asking him to make it right, he told me he didnt need to listen to this, walked off, and climbed into his Cadillac. The parapet wall had to be rebuilt, the tiles re-sealed and the roof repaired. Cost me and additional $8,000. I will never ever ever hire them again. Plus, his website says hes a member of the ***** union, a member of BAPA, and a member of the international trade laborers association. I called all of those orgs. He is not a member of any of them and has t been for years. His firm is not a member of any of them and hasnt been for years. You have been warned.

I received an estimate of $7,200 for repairs made to my chimney and fireplace and was told by the owner of the company that this was a very fair price. The owner further related that I should be grateful for his competitive pricing and years of expertise and that "someone else would have come in and told you it was collapsing and not workable. Then charge an exorbitant amount of money," pressuring me to believe I was receiving the best possible deal. Well, the work took place on a Saturday which I would be working while my wife would be home with the kids. She advised me that around **** the workers arrived to our house, the owner collected half the payment which was due, and by **** hours they advised they were finished and requested the remaining funds. 6 hours of work had been completed! I never had a chance to review or observe the work prior to payment. Per the contract there was supposed to be chiseling of the mortar in both fireplaces which my wife advised did not occur. I reached out tor the owner, as I was shocked as to the short duration for such a large sum of money, to justify the cost of the job and his response was that he pays his workers very well and there was prep work involved. He was very vague with his explanation. I have since spoken to a couple of different contractors and the general consensus is that I was taken advantage of by thousands of dollars. I believe the owner knew that I had a certain budget for this project and he made sure he was going to make that fit into his proposal.
