Today I was visiting Rush University Hospital in ********. They cancelled my appointment without my agreement , what was worse, is after I tried to reschedule my appointment, their staff hanged up my phone twice without any reasonable reasons. I tried to let the front desk reschedule my appointment, and their front desk refused to do that, she said I needed to wait for her to deal with other customers issues first. I waited and as a result my friend couldnt pick me up at the time we agreed. And so I had to stay in the centers lobby waiting for my friend. Then the front desk was trying to drive me away, she said I was overhearing other patients confidential conversations. It is really a humiliation and I am sick of this broken system of this business.Rush University Medical Center Response

Not to my surprise this place has a one star rating. I am new to the midwest, so maybe this is just a geographical adjustment I will have to make, but I need to share this experience so others don't fall victim to it. I took my daughter in for an appointment (which it was also her first time visiting this particular hospital) - not only did I have to jump through a ton of hoops to get this appointment, but they force you to schedule a general doctors appointment as well (which wasn't available) timing wise for 3-4 months. They eventually agreed to see her for the initial thing I was trying schedule for (constipation) and I booked the ********************** for 4 months from then, which they eventually ended up canceling because of scheduling issues. Then when I took her in for the constipation appointment, I got her checked in, and we were seen about ******************************** the room for no more than 10 mins, they ***** you out of the door, with nothing but a piece of paper saying to give her Miralax and eat vegetables (all things you can simply ******* no tests to see if there is something more wrong with her, barely even spoke to her. No one communicates that you get a bill in the mail or let alone what exactly that **** is going to be for. Then you get hould expect a $367 dollar bill in the mail, $367! For 10 mins and nothing more than a BS answer like yeah give her stole softener, no sh*t ********. What is even more pathetic is I told them before and in the room I was doing all these things already. The colleactions team has all the time in the world to BLOW your phone up, 8am, 7pm, 5pm, all times of the day. Did anyone ever call me to try and reschedule the general appointment or check in on the Miralax? No, but they want their $367. Only because they called the day after Christmas at 9am! Did I pay this bill and it's really more just to get them to leave me alone. Long story short, this hospital/our healthcare system is a joke, buyer beware.Review from Eloy A

I went to the Emergency Room to be evaluated on a cerebral vascular event, the baseline studies were done promptly the staff was very good and seemed to care, and got a $500+ bill due immediately on the spot, I was there from about 10 Am until about 9.30 PM when I decided that I had enough of the waiting around for a room to be evaluated and diagnosed and there was no estimates as to when I would be seen, also I was supposed to be their top priority at that point or so I was told, if you have a possible ticking time bomb issue as vascular-cerebral issues you still wont rank too high on the priority list as I have been repeatedly given their go to excuse "sir we don't have any control over when they would be able to see you", be ready to be treated like less than cattle and these guys are supposed to be some of the best in the nation, and according to one of the receptionists, "well its like this everyday, and we don't know when they will be able to see you' if you want to leave, you can leave then" plus there were about 40 other persons awaiting for immediate care that as I have been shown is not that immediate so unless you are flat lining be ready to spend 10+ hours on the hope that you will be given some sort of medical care, now I have to pursue care thru mode standard means, and RUSH people I'm not interested in you "excuses, justifications and explanations" as to why Emergency care is a whole day long ordeal, its supposed to be an EMERGENCY given the price tag attached to it. And yes people please understand that they will "try to reach me and then will consider the issue resolved" and close this complaint as another satisfied customer who has been given "excellent" care.Review from Sapphire M.

Been in the emergency room for over ten hours. They sent me to ultrasound and then assigned me a room but I was in ultrasound and assumed I had left. Thats very unprofessional to not look into the resources before canceling a person. The security is also very disrespectful. They hop all in ya face when you are speaking to them with respect.Review from john d

Nearly one year wait for a colonoscopy appointment! I wish they had told me this from the beginning, instead of wasting my time and money.Review from George B

******** fraud was perpetrated on my account/medical records by ****************** ***. I am covered by employer BCBS/ $3700 deuctiblle and ******** A+B. My husband and I have had routine medical care at Rush for 8 years then this happened!05/26/2022 I went to the emergency room for a hand injury with 3 small puncture wounds.I was seen by **************** ****** , ************** and 1 other ultra sound physician who examined the wound. After wound cleaning it was decided I needed to stay overnight on an antibiotic drip. The following day the wound was improving fast and I was slated to be released at 6pm. It was a holiday weekend and my attending doctors substituted a ****************** *** to check the wound and sign off on discharge. Dr. *** sent a resident in his place and I was discharged at 6pm.At home I sat down to examine doctors reports on mychart. I read all my online chart notes after every doctors visit to ************* through 8 notes by doctors and nurses I found Dr. *** left a long note on 05/27/2022 at 10:13am.To my shock there was a LONG list ofmeds and treatements that had NOTHING to due with me nor my injury! After consulting with 2 doctor friends of the family they told me the records were for a "Chemo patient who overdosed on Heorin" and A senior patient". LISTED ON MY RECORDS AND BILLING :NARCAN, ZOFRAN, many syringe flushes, Cepacol, Milk of Magnesia, suppositories, melatonin etc. I contacted Dr. *** via email that evening. The following morning at 8am, he phoned me flustered and tried to tell me those "automatically appear in case needed", Then he tried another exuse and I hung up and contacted an attorney. I contacted RUSH Billing and they instructed me to tale it up with Dr. ***. I have no protection under the Rush umbrella FOR THIS BLATANT ******** FRAUD. THESE RECORDS CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE MY FUTURE INSURANCE AND EVEN PURCHASING A HOME! I am contacting the ******** Attorney General and the media.
