**** was hired to redo our main bath, kids bathroom and basement in the summer of 2021. The project was planned for 2 months and took over 7. We were without a main bath for 6 months, without really any significant issues meriting such a delay. THP demoed our main bath and did not work for 3 weeks. We inquired if payment could be delayed in keeping with progress, THP threatened work stoppages. THP collected 90% of the fee before any substantial work was completed.THP never had plans or a project schedule, this led to much of the work being done last second, often on weekends. Subs were rarely supervised and we often had to point out problems.Our home was left in a terrible state during work, with materials, tools, etc all over our home. No efforts were made to clean each day and we lived through chaos in our main bed and bath for 4 months.**** collected $4400 from us for cabinets and never ordered them. When he admitted having not ordered them, he kept the money and used it for an extra ****.All but one extra **** was presented after the fact, in violation of our contract. **** would threaten to stop work, so each **** turned into a negotiation of what should be paid.Different subs on several occasions told us that **** owed them money. Two weeks after the permit closed, we had a sub come to our home because he had not been paid. We pushed hard, often with aggressive words and tone, to reach a conclusion. During one incident, his retort was to threaten to call DCFS and report that my children were living in unsafe conditions (due to his workers, of course). He then lied to several others, including my wife, about having said it, but was recorded on my nest cam.**** is a poor contractor who has no employees and subs everything out, often to workers who are not well connected to him. He was regularly dishonest with us and was able to use our payments as leverage to do the job at the pace and quality he dictated.

*****- Your project came out beautiful, passing all inspections and meeting every code. There isn't enough space here for my full response. I would like to remind you that I discovered early on in the project that you had no venting of any type in your house and there could have been a carbon monoxide disaster causing much harm to your family. Your daughters' well-being was of my utmost importance. In regards to cabinets being ordered, these were standard, locally stocked cabinets and did not need to be "ordered". We held up on ordering them because you changed your mind and moved your basement kitchen to several different locations with different configurations. Being an award-winning builder for many years I have worked with many different types of personalities-I have never come across any clients quite like you and your wife. My workers will agree that you made this project a negative environment to work in. Everyone else we work with accepts delays in materials due to COVID, you were not understanding at all. I have had the same crew for ************************************** your house they I had to convince them to come back. They could not deal with abusive behavior and language. We finished the job under difficult circumstances and I supervised them every day, whether in person or via FaceTime. Enjoy your new beautiful home-Be Well
