            I hired Hammell Homes is March of 2021 to complete a gut rehab of my new home. I was remote at the time due to an injury and living in Utah. The job took place in Evanston , Illinois. **** ******* the owner seemed organized and together to start with. However a few things started happening but he always had a reason for them. I was not able to see the work that had been performed until May of 2021 because I was unable to travel due to my injury. When I came I was very disappointed with the work that had been done and again came many excuses. I gave Mr, Hammel 10 days to complete the work before we moved in. Instead of dealing with the list he made things worse and then essentially just left the job site. Part of our deal was that he would be getting a permit and he did not. That was the reason to hire a general contractor. He took my money upfront and has either not completed or started the work and what has been done needs to be removed and redone. This is soul destroying.

            Hammell Homes are professional, honest, and efficient. The owner **** is down to earth, gives great options and helped us work through a complex problem at a reasonable cost. Hammell staff also have a wide range of carpentry skills from cabinetry to doors and other systems solutions for the house. We highly recommend Mr ********************** and his crews.
