Thursday, February 24th I scheduled a blow out service from Mario Tricoci starting at $40 for Saturday, February 26th at 3 pm. What I really wanted for my daughter was hair styling for a dance, maybe put into a braid. I did not see an option for this so I called their Arlington heights location the afternoon of the 25th. I was told that an updo would be $85, I told them she didnt want her hair up but apparently that is what a braid is considered. I asked them if they could just style and curl it. They said they could do so for $80. $80??? I asked why so much and was told it included a wash, hair drying and styling and curl. I told the lady on the phone that she could wash and dry her own hair. The employees reply was that the amount would then be $60 if my daughter washed and dried her hair herself.We did just that. We get to the salon on Saturday and explained she already washed and dried her hair so they wouldnt charge us the higher price. I was told it was a package deal and although the they only curled her hair the final cost was still $80! What the h*** They do a fraction of the package and still charge the full price? Not only that I had talked to the employee on the phone and she had assured me the charge would only be $60!!! I talked to the manager, Jenn, at the salon and she was not willing to honor her employees quoted price. Jenn had said we dont do that. This feels like a case of switch and bait and false advertising and the manager not honoring her employees promise to me. She should have honored this price this one time then go back and train her employees that answer the phone what prices they should be giving. Final analysis, I feel it is fair that Mario reimburse me $20 since I walked in there today with the expectation of paying a lower price based on what their employee had quoted. Had I known I would be charged $80 JUST to curl my daughters hair, I would have gone elsewhere. And they only curled her hair, if th
