I was shopping for new cars. I found a car I liked at Brian Bemis Dekalb Toyota with a special offer by the dealership. I accepted the offer and was told the offer is only good for that particular Saturday (February 18, 2023) so I have to buy the car on that day otherwise they would not give me the offer. I also was aware of another offer by toyota.com for a "******* rebate" for $500 offered through Toyota financial services. Small print terms ware listed on toyota.com webpage in regards that rebate. At time of purchase of the car the Brian Bemis DeKalb Toyota dealership would not ***** me the ******* rebate. They refused to process it and apply it to my loan with Toyota financial services. They claimed that such offer is only offered for Toyota lease maturities and that I needed to be certified by Toyota itself (with some certification number) in order for them to process the rebate. I called from the dealership on that Saturday Toyota financial services to clarify the terms of the rebate since what the dealership was telling me was not matching what toyota.com was stating in small print in regards the rebate. Toyota financial services does not have customer service on Saturday so there was no one to help clarify the terms of that rebate. It was my word based on toyota.com advertised ******* rebate against the word of the dealership management and we spent about 40 minutes arguing about the rebate, but they would not apply it at time of car purchase. My ride left already earlier (i live in Rockford the dealership is in DeKalb) so I had no ride back, full purse of cash ($5000) which dealership would not accept as down payment (they told me earlier int he day over the phone that they will accept cash) so I could not just walk out of the dealership with all that cash looking on the streets for the ride home. Literally I was coerced to buy a car only on that Saturday due to dealership deal, they lied about accepting cash, and refused to ***** ******* rebate.
