That said, the customer wants us to believe that he wasn't told the Petland policy from a pet counselor who is not new to his job and that he agreed to prices or amounts without ever looking at the receipt. Petland of Rome has never had any integrity issues with this employee and the policy is / has been in place since opening. We cannot combine or discount pets that are new arrivals.
We also explain the value of the pet which involves reviewing the pricing and then have the customers sign off on a verification sheet showing that they understand the agreed upon price and that it was reviewed with them. At each level this customer did that.
The employee could not help him with the follow up call as we do not discount for buyers' remorse days later or even 24 hours later. He was referred to the Claims Center, an independent third party, to assist him. How many employees this center is unknown and has no relevance nor does it in any way affect his purchase. They too explained the policy and the customer told them he completely understood and just felt that after he got home and reflected on it that it was a great deal of money. Deception was not the grounds he quoted until it was a denial of refund/ discount.
This store has adhered to our policies and will continue with them. We wish the customer every success and happiness with the puppies. We feel confident he will enjoy them immensely.
